Give me ki any day. With Ki, enough training can allow you to fly, use TP, TK, energy projection, teleportation, reinforce ones body or a specific body part, boost energy by gathering energy from your surroundings, affect reality if you're strong enough (buu and gotenks tearing holes in dimensions), and some have even showed matter manipulation in a small scale.

With enough Ki, one could destroy planets relatively easily.

Personally, I believe with enough power, you could overcome Mind Tricks and Genjutsu. Just like anything else :p

Point is, chakra gives an insane amount of other abilities than genjutsu.

Ki for sheer power. Chakra for versatility.

@cjdavis103: True, but mind tricks can only take you so far. With Ki the versatility is great and the power is just far greater (ex: blowing up planets with a finger)

Ki is everything.

You can cook food by using ki.

The average universal power level for alien races among Frieza's soldiers was only 2,000 or so. It's not quite planet busting power at that point, but it's still much better than what an average shinobi or force user can accomplish. But that's the average for alien life, the average human power level for humans with ki knowledge seemed to range between the 20-100 range. Characters from Dragonball, more or less. Their most powerful attacks were low end mountain busting, not counting Roshi's one absurd Moon busting feat. Even so, this still puts them far beyond what the average jedi knight or chunin shinobi can accomplish.

Ki is the better power overall. It gives bullet immunity even at it's lowest levels, superhuman speed and reflexes, enhanced strength, and some good energy projection if you learn the techniques.

But at the same time, chakra is what I'd pick. Naruto characters have a much, much wider array of powersets and abilities that would let you customize your skillset to the highest level possible. You could shoot fire, manipulate water, summon giant frogs, kill people with puppets, or even become a living hive of bugs you control. The possibilities are endless! Sure, your durability is awful compared to a ki manipulator, and you don't have the fancy precognition or ease of use of your powers the force users have. But you can just make defensive jutsu to stop bullets, and design your own special style of combat unique from any other character. Personally? I'd summon giant chameleons and freak people out with their bobbly eyes and tongue attacks~

Anyway, let's list what chakra can do for fun:

Energy blasts: Bijuu bombs, tailed beast beam.

Elemental control: fire, water, air, earth, and mixing them..

Jinton: Atomic separation.

Kamui: open small wormholes, Dimensional bfr and technical intangibility.

Gravitation control: Repulsion, or attraction, calling meteors and stuff.

Energy armor: Create susanoo and mountain bust, just so you can.

Genjutsu/Telepathy: Strong enough to control all of space, time, and mass in your world, or control a person without him even knowing it, or knock them out and stuff.

Summoning: Summon giant animals and stuff. They can reverse summon you, if needed.

Amaterasu: Look at a guy and set him on long-lasting fire, and burn fire for lulz.

Soul Rip a person, or people, using gedo mazou.

Sealing techniques to seal away people, permanently using spirit weapons.

FRS: Attack individual cells of a body.

You can go on and on and on... no one in their right mind is going to choose ki, or force if they're all put on the same scale lol.

Problem is, the other two are from a greatly multi-planet system.. so we get this:

Seal based attacks. ma fu ba..

Hypnotism. Roshi hypnotizing a martial arts participant.

flight Propulsion. can be fire from feet or hands to propel away.

Durability.. Ki amping being able to withstand continent to planetary shattering attacks..

Speed. Easily hypersonic to lightspeed

Reaction time.. Catching bullets like they were feathers..

Open dimensional wormholes.. Buu screaming. and gotenks..

Matter manipulation.. Cell building the arena using rocks.. picollo generating clothes in an instant

Matter disentegration being able to disentegrate anything it comes contact

Atomic level destruction.. Spirit bomb

telekenesis. Moving and levitating small islands.. seen in goku frieza fight.

Telepathy. Can read minds by touching

Levitation.

Even if proven chakra is more useful and versatile id still prefer ki,

Ki...maybe.

Force, I'll be shredding entire cities with screams and making Goku punch himself in the face.

Chakra and Ki are one in the same. They're the energy that comes from every living being. If I remember correctly, the force is like some sort of cell (courtesy of Episode 1).

@awesam: yeah the force is to do with how many midichlorians you have. the more you have to more powerful you are (i think)

Ki is more versatile. It can create constructs, energy attacks, energy shields, explosions, light generation, flight, energy-wave release (the one where Goku spreads out his arms and releases a sort of wind-like force outwards in all directions - ex. when he fought Jeice and Burter). You can also make your own moves and styles of energy projection and creation, similarly to chakra.

It's just that I find flying and afterimage techniques a lot more awesome than just ninja dash, so I choose ki.

Also, how good you become with the Force depends on how sensitive you are to the Force and how high your medichlorian (Spelling lol?) count is, sow whereas you're unlimited in terms of power and experience with ki and probably chakra as well, the Force users are limited by the two mentioned above.

Depends on the scale of how much voice or ki im able to posses. If i become one with the force ill be able to do almost anything. If Im like Super sayin 4 Gogeta in the amount of ki that would be pretty epic to.

Chakra is way more versatile, but theres 2 huge problems with it:

1. Theres a limit to how much you can have. Everyone is born with a certain chakra capacity, and can only grow it to a certain point. Everyone is different.

2. When one uses a certain amount of chakra, you lose that amount for te rest of the day. it doesnt just come back real soon from charging it up like ki does, its gone for the rest of the day. Ninjas have to recharge their bodies once they done using chakra for the day. For the average ninja it takes about 24 hours to recharge the whole chakra pool.

3. If u run out of all ur chakra at once, you die. Literally. Fortunately, chakra control exists to conserve chakra very well, and every shinobi can use chakra control, u can learn to be better than average at it as well.

Id choose chakra any day

And as an average shinobi you won't be able to use the tailed beast's chakra nor would you be a so6p and neither would you have a kekkei genkai like sharin gan or whatever, nor would you be able to summon random animals because that require a blood contract with those animals. Similarly as an average ki user you won't have planet busting capabilities, but even if you are Yamcha, you will still be able to fly, will have incredible speed, and extraordinary lifting and hitting power considering you train yourself to utilize the ki. Similarly, even if you are Sakura, you can learn to control your chakra to be able to walk vertically and on water, and can use chakra to enhance your strength to destroy rocks and handling of ninja weapons, considering that you train accordingly.

But even if you look at the top, Ki would still come out on top, if you were to compare the powers of tailed beasts and so6p and even Kaguya Ōtsutsuki(not sure about this), they still don't compare to the likes of Beerus, Jiren, Ultra Instinct Goku, Kefla, Broly(DBS: Broly) and Grand Zeno the Omni King.

For an average joe Ki is the best, it gives flight, the best stats and basic energy manipulation that you can do some neat things with. Chakra would come second with 2nd best stats and some illusion tricks, force is the most fodder for an average user, worst stats, TP would only work on animals or really weak willed people (still would be useful IRL tho), precog is cool too but Chakra and Ki give way more versality and bigger stats.

The Force all the day, with the Force you can become eternal as a Force Spirit, it's not because I don't think that there is nothing after the death, but it would be interesting to keep communication with the living world.

With KI one could do many fun things like flying, but the Force is way more useful, you can even see the future, read the minds and so on.

Another thing worth considering. It took Roshi 50 years to develop the kamehameha, which is a simple energy beam attack. Goku has never developed his own technique, and most of the characters who do mostly develop different kinds of energy blasts.

Kakashi was able to develop the chidori by the time he was a teenager. The Rasengan was developed by the Fourth Hokage's 20s. We see Naruto perfect it and develop a whole new jutsu in a few weeks with some cheating training methods. We also see a huge variety of ninja who all have unique jutsu to their name.

It seems to take significantly less time to develop new techniques with chakra than it does with ki. This allows chakra users to develop a wider range of abilities and create a fighting style more tailored to their personal preferences.

So like I said 5 years ago, I'd pick chakra and then develop a fighting style that revolves around summoning giant chameleons! Muahahahaha!
