So, 50% of all life right?

How is that calculated exactly, because there are probably trillions to quadrillions of people across the MCU universe, so the probability of even 10% of the Earth's measely 7 billion being dusted is unlikely.

If it calculated 50% of each species say, then that's fine but what about the ones Thanos has already culled, like Gamora's species and the Asgardians? Bad luck I guess?

Also, what about animals and plants, are they not life too?

I'm probably thinking too much into this but it's been bugging me.

I think it's just sentients but that's an assumption. What's not an assumption is it would be half of each species. Thanos told Tony half of humanity would still be alive when he was done.

And yeah I guess he may have double dipped on the planets he's already been to.
