Of course Thor is gonna look cooler when it has full of effects. I think Shazams costume looks fine. Not on the level of Superman in the DCEU but its fine. Hard to decide between Thor and Shazam. Equal in my book. Something like this would be better to compare id guess.

Until I see more of Shazam, Thor looks better. Thor suit design is like 5-6 movie appearances in tho, so it’s gotten more evolution in it to make it better... whereas Caps suit is debuting, and should there be more appearances from the character I’m sure it’ll evolve to look better too eventually

People are saying Shazam's costume is faithful to the comic book but it isn't. I've always thought that the coolest part of his costume is the lightning bolt on his chest, but this Shazam sort of has a bolt embedded within a downward pointing triangle. It isn't the same, its inferior. And the rest of his costume does look like the comic book costume but they should have modified it to look more motion picture friendly, the way Thor's costume was modified, and Thanos's costume, and so many others. The spandex look rarely works in motion pictures.

Thor's costume in the OP looks better due to the lightning cloak added around him in post production. Without that it looks pretty meh. I liked his costume form TDW the best. I also don't like Thor without his long hair. Makes him look ordinary and doesn't make him stand out among everyone.
Shazam costume looks somewhat comic book accurate and would look better after post production when the yellow lightning bolt on his chest glows. But the muscle padding still looks weird. I know every superhero costume has added muscle paddings but none of them look particularly weird except this one.
Thor wins here. Shazam’s costume is growing on me but it kind of look slow budget/silly. Maybe that’s on purpose to match the theme of the movie but I don’t know. Let’s wait.
I have previously stated that Shazam is going to be a superhero version of Tom Hanks' "Big", but now I am thinking that Shazam is also going to be the superhero equivalent of Herman Munster. "Darn Darn Darn!"
