@Static Shock: the Japanese aren't exposed enough to black people :) hence why they're rare characters (I can only think of two myself, from the manga and anime I've read/seen)
It's not racist the amount of white people in anime (or any other race other than Asian, for that manner) are about the same as the amount black people. Most Anime take place in Japan or some fantasy place where only Asians exist so majority, if not all of the characters are going to be Japanese. There's some anime that incorporate other nationalitiies like Bleach, Darker than lack, Cowboy Bebop and a few others. Afro Samurai is not the only place with black Anime characters.

So you guys basically saying that all Asians in animation (and I assume you mean manga too) are so self conscious and filled with self hatred that they make their characters look like another race/nationality? Do you believe that because Anime characters don't have slanted eyes? Are you sure you don't just believe that because it's more comfortable for you?
