1. “Superman is planetary because he withstood the World Engine” - No. He is not. The World Engine was just increasing his gravity. You should know this. It was a major plot point.

2. “Superman moved a tectonic plate” - No he did not. First of all, I am pretty sure that it was in a deleted scene which makes it non canon, and second, moving a tectonic plate would be a job for his heat vision, and not his strength.

3. “Superman’s heat vision is 3.5 million degree kelvin” - That is untrue. It was confirmed to 10,000 degrees by a video talking about the movie. The part of the World Engine that he melted was obviously a different part than what could be heated up to 3.5 million degrees. Along with this, if it was that hot, then it would have melted Batman's face off when it was right next to him.

4. “Superman is black hole level” - He is not black hole level. He was not anywhere close to actually being inside the event horizon. I do not ever want to see this again.

5. “Superman phase kills” - Superman has never shown this ability.

Next is “planetary Flash”.

1. I can agree with that

2. first of all it’s not a deleted scene it’s very much in the movie it’s the scene from the guy in the wheel chair that hates Superman. Second I don’t see how Clark’s heat vision would have the range to heat up an entire tectonic plate and one do I see why that would make an earth quake stop

3. said video never stated that was his limit and it’s not the WE that he melts it’s the scout ship and said metal from the scout ship was shown being able to withstand 3.5 million kelvin hv from its core and Clark melted it pretty easily

4. I agree

5. I agree

Heat is why Tectonic Plates move naturally… idk if Superman would of used HV or strength, that’s kinda the problem with off screen feats.

@death4bunnies: wouldn’t that just make things worse since heat also contribute to earth quakes since tectonic plates just collide with each other by moving?

Idk, heat in the right place could move in the direction you want, it could relieve stress in another area I suppose, or maybe freeze breath… Youd think that pushing or lifting on them might make things worse too if not done carefully .. i think my point is with off screen feats like this it’s hard to know how it happened.

IMO statements in the movie>Statements from guidebooks or promotional videos

@death4bunnies: I though the entire plate had to beat heated up or cooled down to move, true but if you pushing it then you could just push it away from another plate. true

@alphamon: Clark's HV has other showings though that contradict the idea that it's that hot. Such as Batman being close to it without his face getting melted.

Next is “planetary Flash”.

1: Not planetary, but the displacement places it fairly high.

2: He did, it was just offscreen. Heat Vision is not better. Plates move from heat, but he wouldn't be able to control their movement. HV likely would have made it worse.

3: IIRC, 3.5 Million is a Snydercut statement, making it completely different then the 10,000 degree video.

4: No Black hole in either Marvel or DC is a actual black hole.

5: Sure.

Superman definitely isn't planetary. He still dominates the MCU, though.

I don't think Superman is planetary but he is definitely not street level or fodder like some people think he is.

@death4bunnies: @goldeneagle: the tectonic plate feat is a really controversial topic for me because of how difficult it is to analyze, so as a result I tend to see it as more of an easter egg. Because as a fan of snyder myself, i have noticed his tendencies for consistently showing lots of easter eggs in his movies, one my favorite being the nod towards man bat and the riddler symbol, both in BVS. But that's just my two cents there.

Wonder why this thread wasn't locked but thor was.... maybe cause Thor is star level...!!! He survives a star on-screen and has multiple other star feats if you dig for it, stop crying.

He did not survive a star on screen he was literally burnt up and dying from it, because if that was true than groot saving thors life was a pointless scene. Fact remains thor was dying and even rocket raccoon pointed it out and if groot didnt save him by sacrificing his arm to finish the axe thor would have died.

The difference between the Kryptonian metal and the Motherboxes reaching millions of degrees is the duration and the fact that the material physically withstands the generated heat. In many irl experiments, it’s either plasma or a super small piece of material being heated. The plasma gets hotter and for longer, but the materials surrounding it can’t withstand the heat. The small materials are heated super super briefly. The kryptonian metal can sustain the heat for a prolonged period. Superman overcoming the reaction would put his HV in the millions (maybe tens) of degrees.
