lol I never noticed he never punched anyone in the 90s animated show until someone pointed it out, then I watched some of it again and got my mind blown. But this is stupid.

For me,

Marvel movies/tv > DC movies/tv

D.C comics > Marvel comics

I agree.

If it is anything like Spider-Man TAS, then it might be the best Spider-Man movie yet.

Wonder how people felt about his action scenes in civil war, cause he didn't throw a punch in that either

Anyways, if it gives us a chance to actually see a more versatile and acrobatic style, I'm all for it

So were getting Spider-Man's version of Superman: Returns?.Wtf?..lmao...I'm really confused why marvel felt the need to do this.

Edit: I just reread the article...Their kinda right Spider-man would shatter most people's bones if he punched them..And Spidey does have quite a diverse offensive skillet to fall back on..Including using his webbing as either as projectiles or net traps and a whole host of other uses...But That whole bit about Spidey being too violent I completely disagee with as Spidey fights very responsible especially compared to guys like Batman,Daredevil, and even Cap who constantly render their opponents as cripples...Spidey always pulls his punches and mostly uses webs..So this whole idea of Spidey not punching people for an entire movie does seem a tad bit strange tbh but I totally get what their going for....I.e Less focus on mindless action and much more of an introspective tone then any previous Spidey film......Possibly reminiscent of the original Stan Lee Steve Ditko run from the 60s.

Of-course Holland could of just been using a hyperbole in which case everything i just said is null and void..lmao

@nerevarine_11: Why can't he use all of his techniques while using punching at the same time, like in other Spiderman films and like in the comics?

You may consider punching to be basic, but it's probably the most effective fighting technique, plus when you get into a fight, your first instinct is to throw punches, not perform a roundhouse kick.

@mike_fowler: he had like 10 minutes of screen time and none of his fight were as good a Spider-Man fight could be.

@ready_4_madness: course it's a loss to some people

Personally, for me, so long as I get something similar (or even better) than the school scene in ASM1 I'll be ecstatic for it (a chance to see Peter truly use the environment and acrobatics to his advantage)

Actually it makes sense. He's a kid and he doesn't want to accidentally punch someone's head off. It's about character. The bad guys are still gonna kill people so it hardly has anything to do with sheltering kids from violence and if Tony is Iron Man he's still gonna be punching people. You're just triggered cause of battle forum logic... He might not even mean this in a literally sense... he may mean non powered people will not get punched...

I think people are reading into this too much. Just because he's not directly fighting with his fists, doesn't mean there isn't going to be plenty of action. He probably will behave similar to Civil War. Trying to win fights without hurting anyone too badly. Or just trying to escape/avoid fights altogether.

Avatar image for mickey-mouse

@jashro44: Also as far as battle logic goes; he may have to punch robots, monsters, and aliens so people can chill on that side of things as well.

The only Spider-Man cartoon I really enjoyed was Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994).

"Spider-Man:Homecoming Degrassi High" appears to be further removed from the comics in favor of faux diversity just for the sake of faux diversity. 🕷

Thanks Phony Sony and Disney. Marvel Studios is not in full control of this film.
