This is likely the most comprehensive respect thread for the Slayers franchise. My respect thread is base on the Anime and Manga adaptation of the original canon Light Novels. This thread does no have every little feat or use of spells, but after reading the manga's available (minus Super Explosive Demon Story chapters #5-#38) and re watching the Seasons 1-5 Anime, this is a pretty comprehensive list of feats. All magic descriptions is pulled from sourcing based on the Slayers Encyclopedia. So enjoy.
Lina Inverse is the hero of the Slayers stories, and one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world. She is proven knowledgeable in all schools of magic, and magical lore. Her abilities and skills are such that she is the only human that monsters and gods can respect thanks to her accomplishments. She is a decent sword fighter, but her true strength lies in her wit, and host of magical spells. She is the leader, and battle mage of the group.
Lina has decent super human strength for a small girl.
1) Lina punches Gourry through a roof.
2) Lina smashes a woman with enough force to kick up chunks of the ground.
3) Lina breaks apart shackles.
Lina throws Martina dozen feet with one hand in her sleep.
Punches two beings, one weighing more than most humans, 100s of feet in the air.
Lina sends flying the Inspector and in turn gets pulled after him thanks to the momentum and chain.

After using the Ragna Blade on Gaav, Lina is blown back into this stone cratering impact. 12 seconds later we see her on her feet and ready to keep fighting though near exhausted from the use of the Ragna Blade on her body.

Lina steps on a explosive mine that is powerful enough to bust a fire through the castles ceiling. She then tanks a explosive grenade and another one of these mine explosives right after.
Lina and crew tank Pokota's Dragon Slave at ground zero. We see them alive and well right after. With the ocean water still pouring into the crater that was the city.
Like the rest of her stats, Lina has shown incredible speed and reaction times.
1) Lina reacts to s sword strike less than a foot from her head, while her back was turn.
2) A bandit pulls a ninja trick and gets behind Lina for a strike. Only manages to slash her shirt. Meanwhile Lina puts over a dozen feet between them in the process.
3) Lina blows away multiple arrows after they are fired at her.

5) Manages to keep up, and see the super speed feat between Lyos and Deep Sea Dolphins general.
Lina has many times keep up and dodge an blood lusted Gourry on two separate occasions.
Lina matches speeds with Zuuma who gives Gourry a hard time in speed. She also shows off her skills by using just a dagger to block attacks.
Xellos and other Monsters of his kind all have super speed. However, Lina and the gang always been able to follow his movements, and even Lina has dodge the attacks of Xellos in certain short lived battles.
Lina has extremely goo mental fortitude to illusions.
1-2) A monster casts a city wide illussion on everyone. Only Lina sees through it, and locates said Monster's location.
3-5) This mental illusionist user makes it look like to everyone that Lyos's sword turn into serpents. Everyone freaks out except for Lina who sees right through it.
Lina has shown to locate sources of energy and magic when she needs to.
1-2) Lina runs through the city to lacate the source of the illusions and finds it to the Monsters's surprise.
3) Lina feeling the tiniest bit of detail of the sea and air around her, and detects the great energy that is Airlord Valwin.
Demon Blood Talismans
The Demon's Blood Talismans are devices that amplify your magic power by a factor of four. Xelloss said that he wasn't entirely sure of their origins when he reluctantly sold them to Lina. It is said that they contain the power of the ma-ō of the four planes: Ruby Eye Shabranigdu, Dark Star Dugradigdu, Chaotic Blue, and Death Fog.
One on each wrist. One around the neck. One on the belt. Lina must invoke them first before casting any spell to amplify it.

Black magic is the power of calling on the power of Monsters themselves for very destructive attacks.
It makes a whip of light appear in the caster's palm which can be used to attack. Unlike spells which are shot like projectiles, the movement of the whip can be more tightly controlled by the caster, improving the chances of hitting the target. The primary weakness of the spell is its short range.
Cuts a Monster into many pieces.
Injures another Monster into running.
The caster makes a black void appear in a certain area, and anything alive or possessing an astral body is turned into ash. Inanimate objects such as the ground, buildings, and equipment are not affected; the spell has an effect of a relatively large area, making this one of the few black magic spells which can be used in cramped alleys and town squares.
One of the few spells that affected Gourry as the Black Swordsmen.
The spell animates the caster's shadow, which roughly takes the form of several dragons and proceeds to attack the shadows of the designated opponents. The shadow-creatures are able to bite out parts of the target's shadow, and damage taken by the shadow is immediately reflected on the target's physical body as well. Methods which make one's shadow disappear can be used as a defensive measure.

This spell calls on the power of Dynast Grausherra. This spell creates lightning to fall in the form of a pentagram and then rush to the center where the target is.
Lina summons the powerful spell to faze the powerful monster Saygram.

A spell which relies on the power of Deep Sea Dolphin. The spell turns water into a single sharp blade which cuts through practically anything. However, it needs a large body of water to be present nearby in order to function.
Cuts a large ship in half.
Targets and homes in one multiple row boats.
Spell which calls upon the power of Chaos Dragon Garv. Since the death of the Chaos Dragon, this spell is no longer castable. The caster releases a beam of red flame, which has a limited homing ability. While it is a single target spell, Garv Flare is powerful enough to pierce through most opponents and damage anyone who might be standing behind it.
Lina rend the earth from the power and heat of the Garv Flare.
A spell that uses the power of Greater Beast Zelas Metallium. A ribbon of light emerges from the caster's index finger after saying the Power Words. Its destructive power is equal to those of Dynast Brass or Ragna Blast, but unlike those spells, its direction can be changed by the caster at will, making it almost impossible to dodge.
Summons a super large energy bolt that covers a rooftop, killing all the monsters on top of it.
This spell is known to be the strongest black magic spell normally castable by a human without amplifying his or her bucket capacity; one shot can level a mountain or even a small city. When used in combination with the Demon's Blood Talismans, the spell's power can potentially decimate a city the size of Saillune. It is also highly effective against astral beings such as mazoku. It is advisable for the caster to put some distance between herself/himself and the target, as she/he can be easily caught in the explosion as well. When using the Dragon Slave at close range is unavoidable, the caster usually puts up a strong barrier beforehand, which still may or may not be enough.
One shots a Black Dragon and the town it is in.
Destroys a small mountain of a floating island that was falling, and leaves a very large crater in the middle of the city.
Destroys a town even though the town was well away from ground zero.
Lina fires a point blank Dragon Slave at a monster and some thieves during a fit of rage. Lina even fires a second one. The blast wipes out the castle and dungeon they were in, with little debris left, as well cratering a large deep hole.

Another unique aspect of the Dragon Slave spell is the automatic defense barrier that comes with it. The barrier keeps the user from suffering any damage while casting the spell, and only a attack of Dragon Slave level or higher can breach it.
Not to be confused as Holy Magic, which is the opposite of Black Magic. White Magic consists of anti dead spells, healing, and many more harmless spells. Related to Shamanistic Magic.
The spell negates the effects of all spells within the area, except for white magic, as all other spells take their strength from the energy created by altering the natural flow of energy; this spell negates them by returning the flow of energy to normal. It can be also used to break magic barriers.
Lina breaks out of a barrier that Saygram entraps her in.
The spell creates a ball of light which is about as bright as a street lamp. Normally the duration of this spell is 2-3 hours, but by shortening the duration the spell can be made brighter. A blinding flash of light, for example, can be made by decreasing the duration to a split-second.
Uses Lighting to bypass an illusion.
Uses Lightning to disperse a shadow based spell.
As its name suggests, it makes creatures within a certain area fall asleep. Those affected by this spell will stay asleep for about half a day, even if a dragon roars or a banshee screams nearby. This spell is not taught at Sorcerer's Guilds because it can be used for criminal activities; it must be constructed by the would be caster.
KOes a thief.

The spell actually does not heal the target directly, but rather hastens his or her natural healing rate, which makes wounds close and disappear in a matter of minutes or seconds, depending on the seriousness of the injury. However, such a process is exhausting for the human body, and therefore casting Recovery on someone who is already weak because of injury or illness will do more harm than good; the recipient may very well die. In such a case, using Resurrection is necessary. Furthermore, the spell also affects any bacteria or viruses inside the target's body, so casting it on a diseased person may actually worsen the disease.
Heals the sickness, and very bacteria of this girl. Heals herself of broken ribs.
Lina shows the ability reverse healing effect as well with a touch. Negating and killing the instant healing of Trolls.
This revolves around the Fire of the natural world. As the name implies, fire based spells.
It creates several dozen small balls of light which burst upon contact. Each ball deals about the same damage as a slightly strong punch, making this a useful spell when one wants to capture the target instead of killing it. The spell can also be used to frighten enemies or to use the smoke to reduce visibility.
Used in a combi attack.
Blast Bomb is the most powerful known fire shamanistic spell, its power rivals or perhaps even exceeds that of the Dragon Slave. A human cannot cast it without amplifying his bucket capacity. This spell has several variations in casting and formation. Typically, innumerable Fireballs hail across the area with the caster at the center, each exploding with the potency of a Val Flare or Vice Flare. Another possible casting is done with a large cyclone of flame equally powerful to the other version.

A ball of light appears in the targeted area, and in the next instant the ball bursts, raising a tongue of blue-white flame. The flames can melt even a golem made of metal with ease. Against a human, not even the bones will remain. This spell can have a very large blast radius, unless the caster explicitly focuses on keeping its destructive power in check. Burst Flare can be used to counter its ice counterpart, Vice Freeze; if the two spells collide, they vanish with a loud explosion, leaving thick fog behind.

The spell cast by weaker mages show the power to explode entire Mansions.
The spell creates numerous balls of light near a target which burst, spreading flames. Burst Rondo is visually impressive not to mention loud, but the damage from the spell is negligible. Even a direct hit will only cause burns, making this a good spell to use as a diversion or to frighten enemies.

A ball of fire appears between the hands of the caster which can be thrown. The ball explodes upon contact, spreading flames. Caution is necessary when using this spell indoors or in forests because it affects a wide area. Being able to cast this spell is one of the criteria for a full-fledged mage.

Fireball Break is a variation of the spell that causes the Fireball spell to expand into multiple blasts.
Another unique version of the spell is Lina does not use a projectile but summons the Fireball around the target to explode and Engulf them.
Lina shows she is able to mid cast one spell, and switch to another like this Fire Ball.
Fireball kills a large group of Berserkers.

Two versions of the spell exist: The first one enables the caster to shoot an arrow of flame from a bow made of similar fire energy. The second one causes several arrows to appear in the air in front of the caster, and advance toward their target(s) immediately. In this case, the number of arrows depend on the skill of the caster and the amount of magic power put into the spell. Although the spell is indeed simple, a Flare Arrow can still cause serious damage to a human on a direct hit. However, like many low-level fire spells, the caster can 'pull punches' with it, only putting enough energy into it to singe their target without any real damage.
1-2) Flare Arrow is proven to damage a monster in future made armor way better than the gatling guns of the ship.
3) Flare Arrow in a spread also counter the Plasma attacks of another monster.
4) Flare Arrow by itself has decent explosive force.

Lina accurately targets, and takes out dozen canon balls from the pirate ships.
Combining the strength of several Flare Arrows, the caster forms a spear of fire, which can be used to attack, light a fire, or even to heat up an object.
The Flare Lance blows off Zuuma's arm off with ease.
The spell is a greatly augmented version of Flare Arrow. It creates only a single projectile, but that is powerful enough to break down walls. Because of its power, the caster must be extremely careful when using it indoors or in enclosed areas.
Val Flare used on another monster.
Val Flare powerful enough to blast back Lina and Gourry.
The spell is a stronger version of Val Flare; the Flare Arrow-like projectile deals considerably more damage on a larger area. Vice Flare should never be cast indoors; if used irresponsibly, the spell can seriously damage the caster as well.

The spell creates spear(s) of fire which are all shot at an opponent. This is the strongest fire spell which affects only a single target. The spears are made more of pure fire energy than actual flames, so they will not set things on fire incidentally.

This revolves around the Air of the natural world. As the name implies, Air based spells.
Bomb Di Wind
By casting this spell, the caster first greatly increases air pressure in an area, then releases it. The resulting wind blows away anything directly in front of the caster. Even a thick log cannot stand against it. Although mainly an offensive spell, Bomb Di Wind has several other uses, such as propelling a ship.

Naga shows the power of this attack on foes.
The spell is basicly a stronger version of Bram Fang. It creates several "arrows" of compressed air, which are able to affect a reasonably large area. Bram Gash is strong enough to produce lethal wounds or break through a brick wall.
Smashes to pieces all the solid stone statues into rubble.
The spell creates a gust of wind, which can be used both offensively and defensively. In the former case, the force of the wind can prevent a human-sized creature from moving for a few seconds. In the latter case, the spell can deflect missile weapons or minor offensive magic such as Flare Arrow.
Blows away arrows.

This is an elementary lightning spell. The caster must touch the target, and if he succeeds, the spell delivers an electric shock. The shock is not lethal, but enough to temporarily paralyze or knock out the victim. The spell can be used more efficiently by using a sword or similar metal weapon as an intermediary instead of touching the target directly.

The spell shoots out a blast of lightning from the caster's palm. It is a stronger version of Mono Volt, and a direct hit by this spell most likely means death. There is also a small chance that targets struck by it will catch on fire.

The spell allows the caster to shoot a high-pressure ball of air. Although weaker than the similar Bomb Di Wind spell, the ball of wind is strong enough to burrow into the ground and deliver damage to the target. The spell affects a large area, and anyone who is within it will be blasted away, so caution is necessary.

The caster may move in any direction or even stop and hover in mid-air, unlike Raywing, although at a slower speed. The spell manipulates the winds around the caster to achieve the desired effect. Maintaining the spell requires little concentration, making it possible to cast another spell while flying, although casting more difficult spells may still be risky.

Lina casts the spell to raise above the battlefield along with Gourry.
It gives the caster the ability to fly by creating a spherical shield of wind around him. The caster can carry other people, but since the speed, diameter, and the maximum altitude or weight that can be carried all depend on the caster's skill, more weight means less speed. Unlike Levitation, the spell is difficult to control and requires a lot of concentration, so other spells cannot be used at the same time; the caster can continue flying only as long as he concentrates. Still, Raywing allows faster travel than Levitation, and the wind barrier can also serve as a defensive shield against weaker attacks. Additionally, the wind barrier does not cease to exist even when entering a body of water, thus the spell enables the caster to easily move underwater without getting wet - although the amount of breathable air inside the bubble is obviously limited.

It surrounds the caster with a (usually spherical, unlike Air Valm) barrier of wind which is much stronger than the one created by Raywing and defends the caster from all attacks. If the caster is standing on solid ground, the spell does not extend into it and he can still be attacked from below. It's the most popular defensive spell, the Saillune Material Library claims that most of the unnamed barriers that sorcerers use in Slayers stories are created by it. It is possible for several spellcasters to combine their shields to increase the strength of the barrier and it can be used against all but the most powerful offensive spells.

This revolves around the Earth of the natural world. As the name implies, Earth based spells.
By calling on the power of the earth spirit Bephimos, a tunnel is created through the earth. It is possible to dig a tunnel horizontally, or to create a vertical tunnel and use it as a pit trap. As long as the target is made of earth, the spell works, but it has no effect against wooden boards or metal.
Breaks 10 foot whole through the floors of a castle.
Spell shows the use to trap enemies in a pit fall.
The spell produces a red ball of light which self-destructs upon contact with the target structure. The explosion sends high-speed vibrations through the target, destroying it. The spell is like a small, concentrated earthquake. Since the effects of the spell do not spread out, it is meant for opening holes in ceilings and walls.

Lina charges a magic ball with the spell for explosive results.
AKA Dire Brando, and Dill Brand. This spell can blast anything upwards within a circular range from the ground, including dirt, rocks or people. Since the spell's effects are not lethal, it can be used to knock targets unconscious and capture them. In addition, the pillars of displaced dirt and rocks can be used to hide from or blind the target.
Sends Gary flying. Counters a monsters energy attack. Takes out multiple thugs.

The spell does not differ significantly from Dill Brand, but the area of effect is greater, making it possible to attack even more targets. Since the amount of dirt which flies up is increased, the spell's ability to cloud the visibility of opponents is also more potent. However, the increased area of effect also means that other party members have a greater chance of accidentally becoming victims of the spell.

The Spell decimates a small fortress and explodes the tower.
Also known as Stone Spiker, the caster gathers magic energy into his open palm and slams it to the ground, from which giant stone spikes emerge, each of them capable of piercing an opponent easily. The spikes appear quickly, accompanied by a small earthquake, making this lethal spell difficult to avoid.
1) Lina counters Zelgadis own Dug Haut.
2) Lina shatters the demon stone.
Wounds Demon Beast Zannafar.
The spell makes the ground explode underneath the target. Natural, open ground is required for the spell to function, but in return, the caster can control the amount of damage dealt very precisely, making the spell as lethal as the caster wishes it to be.

This revolves around the Water of the natural world. As the name implies, Water based spells.
The spell fills the area with a dense black fog, blocking vision completely. In the black fog, even magically created light is completely extinguished. Once cast, the spell does not require concentration, and the fog remains for a while even after the spellcaster stops concentrating.
Uses Dark Mist to temporarily blind Zumma.
The spell creates water. The small stream usually pours from the caster's hands, but a different starting point can also be chosen. It is possible to adjust the water pressure to an extent as well.
Lina generates massive amount of water with Amelia, and Zelgadis.

This spell is somewhat less lethal than the fire version, although a direct hit may encase the target in ice completely. However, this spell is also less dangerous to use, as the danger of putting the caster's surroundings on fire does not exist.

The spell is the ice counterpart of Burst Flare. It causes a ball of ice to appear in the target area, which, upon bursting, covers its surroundings in ice. It can also be used to counter Burst Flare; if the two spells collide, they vanish with a loud explosion, leaving thick fog behind.
Flash freezes a shadowy dragon.
While chanting, the caster puts their hand on a solid surface. After speaking the Power Words, countless icy threads sprout from their hand and advance along the surface. Anything touched by these threads gets enveloped by them and is soon sealed into ice. This is a rare spell, but a very effective one when fighting indoors.
Freezes a guard and breaks through a illusion in the process.

The spell causes thick, cold fog to appear from the ground, and suddenly freeze anything within. Since the fog comes out of the ground, only battle-scarred veteran adventurers can dodge this spell.
Lina flash freezes the giant sea fish and the top layers of the lake.
Astral spells deal specifically with astral forms of living beings and monsters. The soul to put in layman's terms.
This spell temporarily gives a mundane weapon magical properties, allowing it to harm beings such as mazoku or deflect minor spells. When it is cast, the target weapon's blade or tip is enveloped in a faint crimson glow. The caster does not need to concentrate to maintain the spell, and the enchantment does not end when the weapon leaves the caster's hands, so a sorcerer can use Astral Vine to boost the offensive capability of the entire party.
Lina uses Astral Vine to boost the offensive power of the gatling guns used by the ships.
Like most offensive astral magic, this spell manifests itself as a blue beam which heads towards the intended target. Blam Blazer has some unique qualities, however: unlike most astral spells, it can harm the target physically as well as mentally, and unlike most spells in general, it does not "explode" on contact. Instead, it reaches into the target harmlessly before dealing physical and astral damage to their insides; this makes Blam Blazer a lot more lethal compared to similar incantations of the same caliber

This spell is a significantly more powerful version of the Elmekia Lance, even the incantations are similar. However, this spell manifests itself as a pillar of light which engulfs the target, meaning that targeting the spell is easier. The astral damage caused by this spell is big enough for a human's mental component to be torn asunder.

The weakest of the spells which solely affect astral targets, the lance of light created by this spell can knock an opponent out on a direct hit, but does not deliver serious astral damage, although the target's mental strength, and so his ability to concentrate on spells) might be weakened for a while. Elmekia Lance is significantly more lethal against mazoku, especially against low-ranking ones or lesser demons.

Airwolrd Valwin in recent story granted Lina his Divine Power to use as she sees fit. Divine Power is the term for power that a person or being given the blessing of one of the four Shinzoku. Each power reflecting the Fire, Wind, Water, or Earth aspects of Magic. Lina possesses the blessing of the Wind Dragon.
This power allows for flight with no need for Leviation or Ray Wing spells.
It also grants incredible wind base attack that rivals the Dragon Slave.
Lord of Nightmares
Highly destructive spells, one of the few which call upon the power of the Lord of Nightmares. As she is neither shinzoku nor mazoku, it does not belong to black or holy magic.
Ragna Blade is a spell that calls upon the power of the Lord of Nightmares. It is neither a black magic, nor a holy magic spell, as the Lord of Nightmares herself isn't shinzoku or mazoku. The spells calls forth crackling black energy which roughly takes the form of a sword in the caster's hands. Because of this it can only be used in close combat. Only surpassed in power by the Giga Slave, the Ragna Blade's destructive force is enormous.
