@themanintheshoe: Nice! Wasn't expecting to see Cookie Monster in the display window. :-)

@judgedreadlocks:

That sounds pretty awesome and that floor is amazing! If I were ever in the area I'd definitely have to check this place out. We have a game and comic store in separate buildings on the same street and they're across the street from each other.

Interesting. Why the two shops? Can you find what you need between the two or do they have complementary hours?

Westfield Comics in Madison, Wisconsin! http://westfieldcomics.com/

Here is the inside and outside of their west side location.

No Caption Provided

And here is the outside of their east side location, the one I usually go to. It's quite a bit smaller than their west side location, but they will happily transfer stock from one store to another if an item is needed. Both locations are clean and well set up with friendly staff, however, they don't carry older issues.

Capital City comics.

No Caption Provided

Quite cramped feeling, but they do have a ton of back issues and trades and the guy is helpful. I'd go here more often if it were closer to me.

Silver Snail Comics, Ottawa, ON: http://www.silversnail.com/main/

No photo for this one and it is no where near enough to me to be my LCS, but it is a neat store that my ex-roommate frequents. Very friendly and LGBT welcoming. Plus, they sell tpb at American prices and give a (I think) 20% discount on them.

None of the images are mine, I found them either on Facebook or Google.

I live in a small town and therefore have a small local comic book shop, so when I look at you guys and your HUGE local comic book shops, I almost pass out from jealousy. This is my local comic book shop - The Incredible Comic Book Shop, here the term "small but mighty" applies. It has all the new comic books out plus variants and signed comics. Only thing missing out is in supplying old comics from the 90s and earlier but hey-ho, beggars can't be choosers

Amazon and ComiXology for sure, but Midtown Comics is amazing when I come across one, and when I move to Ottawa in the fall I'll become a regular at the Silver Snail! (the Toronto one is great)

I subscribe to Green Lantern through Amazon, I use Comixology a shitload for digital stuff, and when I go visit my dad, I go to a place in a nearby Cleveland suburb (Willoughby) called Comic Heaven.

Great place. Well organized, super knowledgeable people who legitimately care about you and your comic interests. Dudes always ask what's going on with my life outside of comics, shit like that. Can't recommend it enough if you're in the east Cleveland area.

OK Comics

This is my local comicbook store. Run locally and not a chain. It's tiny compared to the local chain store in my city, but I much prefer OK Comics as the service is superior and feels more homely. They get to know you, know your tastes and like to discuss and help out whenever possible.

We're lucky in the Baltimore suburbs to have 6 comic shops within a reasonable drive. I'm especially fortunate to have my favorite of them a couple blocks walk from my front door.

Like @wundagoreborn, I have several comic shops in my area, but the one I go to is The Time Capsule in Seekonk, Massachusetts (they also have a store in Cranston, Rhode Island, on the other side of Narragansett Bay).

I'm so incredibly jealous of everyone here!

I have to use a local Barnes & Noble to grab my comics, and it's often that they don't have what I'm looking for.

There is a Newbury comics that's an hour or so away from me but I don't get to go there often because of the long drive.

I started collecting comics again last year when the issue of Astonishing X-Men #51 came out. I'm not the type of collector that collects older issues, or hopes that my issues will be worth thousands years from now. I got the issue simply because I felt it would be a memorable one. It was that issue and seeing Avengers vs X-Men that got me into collecting again. And since then, I have been through three different shops.

The first one is called Secret Headquarters

Then, I found Meltdown Comics

And now, I shop at Golden Apple Comics. The one shop I hope to stick with. They're the one shop that I have truly felt at home with. Their employees are nice, they talk with you about the titles you're reading, they're always helpful, and you can tell they love their job. I also have a pull with them which is something I never got offered with the two previous shops. They offered me the pull on my first visit. So I can count on them having my titles bagged and boarded every week. The 10% discount is also nice. It's a pretty small shop, but they have a pretty good selection of toys, clothes, recent and back issues, as well as some trading cards.

Since 1975 the best strip mall south of Amsterdam!Small but well stocked with a wide range of new, small-press, foreign, used, antiquarian, curios, serigraphs, prints and originals. Despite the small size of this unique store you come here so just what you just are not looking.
