Shonen Jump heroes popularity contest

Are we gonna get some sort of weird scenario where it's Vegeta vs. Goku vs. Zoro, and Zoro might win due to the split in DBZ voting? Politics I tell you lol.

Anyway, I nominated Light in the first place BUT I'm going with Ichigo.

For what it's worth, Yusuke > Goku for me.

It's not really a contest, Vegeta and Goku are the most famous amongst shonen Heroes. Everybody knows it. Even here, people know more about DBZ than any other shonen lol.

Light. He's not really a hero, but Ichigo is perhaps the blandest of the shonen protagonists I know. He only has one motivation in life and it's kind of sad.

@emperorthanos-: One Piece has been around since the late 90s whilst dragon ball has been around since like 84. DB has been around for longer but DB as a series has had more influence over shonen in general and has a huge presence especially in western society. Dragon ball as someone said as a franchise is way bigger but OP has out sold everything and is only growing.

DB started before. But it hasn't been around longer. DB ended years ago and only recently came back with DBS. While One Piece is still going on. DB only has around 300 chapters while One Piece is currently at thrice that amount of chapters with over 900.

So obviously something with around 3 times as many chapters is going to sell more.

@emperorthanos-: sure but why would that be obvious? Quantity doesn’t equal quality. DB will always be the bigger series in the sense that it’s influenced the entire genre of shonen and had a major western breakthrough.

? I am saying DB is bigger of the two. OP only has better sales due to being a much longer manga. If DB was as long it's sales would be as good if not better. I'm saying the argument that OP is more popular due to sales is questionable.
