Shazam plot summary with the credits and FEATS

Movie starts in winter of 1974, a dad and his two sons are driving down the road - one son is younger and more of the nerdier kid and he is playing with his magic 8 ball. The older brother and father begin to mess with him and then he’s suddenly transformed to the Wizard. In the wizard’s ‘lair’(?) we first see Mr Mind, then the seven deadly sins - they’re all statues that’s eyes glow red and can talk. The wizard informs him that his goal is to look for someone so pure of heart that he could transfer his powers over to as he is growing weaker. The boy is tempted by the sins and manipulated to go and grab this glowing ball that they call the eye(might have missed a more official title) right as he is going to touch it - wizard slaps his hand away and tells him that anyone pure of heart would defeat that temptation - he banishes the boy back to the car ride with his father and brother. He begins to spazz out and the dad is distracted yelling at the boy before looking up and seeing a truck coming head on - he manages to swerve out of the way and spin out leaving the car safe. He yells at the boy and tells him he could’ve got them all killed - then they’re hit by a truck. The father flies out of the car and is on the ice in front of them, the older brother goes and checks and tells the little boy it was all his fault. The little boy picks up the magic 8 ball and it reads “find me.” The wizard yells about how he needs to find someone pure of heart no matter how long it takes.

“Shazam!”

Present day Philadelphia, Winter. Billy Batson lures police officers to a pawn shop, locks them inside and then looks on the police scanners for info about a possible mother. He finds the address of a Rachel Batson and goes there, he waits outside and rehearses what he’ll say until he finally knocks on the door and opens it is a black woman. Police show up and take Billy in - he’s brought back to a social service worker who tells billy he has a new foster family. His new step mom & step dad pick him and take him home - he meets his brother Eugene initially as he’s screaming while playing some game online, Darla is super excited to see him - she makes him a poster that says welcome home new brother but she notices that their other sibling Pedro left his weights on it and the poster slightly rips when she tries to pull the weights off. Another sibling Mary enters the room on a phone with a college - she has to answer a question about opportunities she’ll get at college. Billy then meets Freddie(Jack Dylan Grazer) and Freddie shows him his favorite superhero memorabilia - a bullet that bounced off Superman’s body.

Back in some office, a woman is talking to someone through Skype asking her questions about the wizards lair - we notice there’s a ton of video logs with other people who also visited the lair. She begins to say that on her alarm clock she noticed there was symbols that flashed over and over - a voice in the background, the boy all grown up - Dr. Sivana. She mentions she has video of the symbols and shows them. Sivana and the woman walk through a lab to another room, the woman tells sivana that’s its her project and he shows her a door with the symbols on it - he needed the video to perfect the sequence they go in and puts them in order correctly on the door. The woman touches the door and turns to dust. Sivana walks through it and finds the wizard again - “remember me?” - Sivana immediately goes for the eye and absorbs all the souls of the seven deadly sins in his eye.

At school, Darla tries to say bye to Billy before he goes off for the day but he makes her feel bad when telling her they aren’t real brother and sister - she walks away sad with Freddie. At lunch Freddie sits with billy and after trying to pester him for a few minutes - Freddie assumes that billy stole his Superman bullet(it’s not mentioned before aside from this tiny line) - Billy assures him he didn’t. Outside, bullies drive him and hit Freddie - they begin to beat on him and bully him - billy initially starts to walk past until they mention that Freddy has no mom - billy immediately turns around and smacks one of the bullies with Freddie’s crutch and then rams it into the others crotch. They grab billy but he manages to get away and runs down a subway station and onto a train and away from the bullies. While on the train - symbols begin to appear on the LED screens and the windows begin to freeze - Billy is transported to the wizard who tells Billy about the history of these powers - one wizard had it all until he turned evil and used his powers to kill dozens of people and release the seven deadly sins into the world(believe this was Black Adam but not sure, you see a little cgi version of the character and it looked like him) he wants billy to have the power he possesses. All billy has to do is say Shazam - billy says Shazam and transforms into Shazam. The wizard fades away. Shazam transports back to Philadelphia and goes to the foster home to get help from Freddie. Montage where Him and Freddie test out all of his possible powers, we also learn than billy did steal the bullet. Shazam can shoot lightning with his hands, super speed, super strength, bullet immunity. Scenes include Shazam trying to help this lady from getting mugged in a park but turns out the screaming he heard was the mugger and not the woman - she pepper sprayed the man, Shazam shows his power when he throws the man into the bushes halfway across the park - she gives them $73 and tells them she didn’t see anything. Freddie and Shazam go to a convenience store and try to buy beer - the thieves come in and Shazam stops them - also learning that he deflects bullets like Superman - on his face and also his suit. Shazam launches them both out of the store and they walk out with beer - trying it and spitting it out saying that it tastes like vomit. Instead they opt to buy snacks. They sit on the art museum steps and eat their snacks and talk about the powers. Back at the foster home the mom and dad worry about billy running away again and that he usually does that, Freddie and Shazam sneak into the house and meet Darla upstairs in her room - she is scared but Shazam says Shazam and suddenly turns to billy and they get Darla to promise she won’t tell his secret or she would be a bad sister.

cant remember what scene it happened after but there’s a scene where we learn of how billy got lost, at a carnival with his mom and she wins him a compass and tells him that the compass will show him where he needs to go whenever he’s lost, he drops it and goes to run after it but he gets lost in the crowd and can’t find his mom

At sivana industries - Sivana shows up and barges into a meeting where his father and brother are. We learn that his father lost his legs in that accident from the beginning - his brother stands up and begins to bully Sivana until Sivana grabs him and launches out of the window. Sivana shows off the seven deadly sins and they slaughter the whole room except for his father - most gruesome death is one of the sins biting a characters head off - finally as Sivana goes to leave - his father pleads that he’ll give him anything, Sivana asks his father what sin he committed the most - then realizes and says greed do whatever you want with him - as Sivana leaves the room and the door begins to close we see Greed pounce on him and begin to eat the father.

Freddie has been posting videos of Shazam’s practicing his powers so he went viral. Freddie and Billy are in school and want to skip class so they use Shazam to pose as their father - they get out and another test ensues of trying to fly, Billy gets Freddie to try and teleport from one card box box to another but it’s actually a fire immunity test - Freddie sets the box on fire and Shazam breaks out of it. Montage - Shazam charges people’s phones, in an office trying to buy a lair, Shazam getting sodas to fly out of a vending machine, going to a strip club. He comes out and says we need more money. They go to a atm and he zaps it and as money flies out they both grab the money. Back at the foster house we see that they bought a lot of stuff including macs, Xbox’s, TVs, etc.

Next day at school - the bullies begin to mess with Freddie and Billy again until Freddie tells them he knows the new hero “red cyclone” - they don’t believe him but he promises and tells them that he’ll get him to show up to lunch tomorrow. Freddie and Billy get into a bit of an argument over him just assuming and trying to use billy for his powers. That night at dinner the father asks the family what they think of the new hero - everyone gives input and Freddie takes a dig at Shazam and then him and billy get into a bit of an argument leaving the rest of the family confused.

At school the next day Billy decides not to go because he doesn’t need to, Freddie asks him to still come for lunch - Shazam does various things around the city - taking selfies with fans, he then sees Mary about to be hit by a car - he saves her and talks to her realizing that she is upset, he assumes it would be because of college because of the letter in her hand and she says that she got in but she doesn’t wanna leave her family - Shazam tries to tell her that she should just go and make a life for herself, family doesn’t matter - only you matter. Mary is confused afterward as Shazam accidentally reveals he knows her name & that she’s a foster kid - but doesn’t think too much of it at the moment. At school Freddie is surrounded by kids waiting for Shazam and is humiliated, at the art museum steps Shazam is putting on a lighting show saying “lighting with my hands” to the point of “another one bites the dust.” Freddie shows up and talks shit to Shazam, Shazam tries to act cool and diffuse it and shoots lighting but it hits a bus across the city - Shazam is able to stop the bus lift it up and lay it down on the concrete. Freddie tells him that he’s not using his powers right and Shazam tells him that he’s only jealous because he wishes he had these powers - Freddie cries and tells him that he does because for once he doesn’t want to be looked at and be felt bad for. Sivana shows up and starts bodying Shazam, he demands Shazam give him his powers, Shazam brushes him off but Sivana punches him and tells him that man made powers might not do damage but magic on magic does. Sivana is literally throwing him across the city, through buildings, walls, etc. they end up in a mall. There’s a joke here where a little girl sits on Santa Claus’ lap until he sees this and runs away. Sivana has Shazam down and out and Shazam screams Shazam and the smoke that comes with the transformation allows Billy to sneak away. Freddie is there searching for billy - Sivana notices Freddie and notices the tv displaying Freddie talking to Shazam - he grabs Freddie and threatens him to tell him who Shazam is and where he is...back at the foster home, the other siblings wonder why Freddie would be with Shazam until Mary pieces it together for them - Darla just confirms it. Billy shows up and they tell billy they know - Eugene hands Billy a paper - Eugene looked up Billy’s parents and finds that his dad is in prison and his mom is only 2 subway stops away. Billy rushes to his mom. The foster mom and dad goes after him. Alone at the house, Sivana shows up with Freddie and traps the children.

Billy arrives at his mothers apartment complex and she informs him that on that day she purposefully left him because she realized that people could take much better care of him than she ever would. He gives her the compass and tells her shes the one who needs help finding her way. He leaves and gets a call from Freddie, Sivana tells him to come there and give him the power. Billy jumps off the building and transforms to Shazam and flies home. Shazam seems to give up to save his family and Sivana opens a door to lead them to the wizards lair. While there - Sivana and the seven deadly sins surround Shazam and as he’s about to give up his powers - Freddie, Darla, Eugene, Mary & Pedro appear in the lair - Freddie throws his batarang at Sivana’s head and as Sivana and co turn around - Shazam notices that Sivana’s head is bleeding. Shazam grabs the batarang sticks in his Sivana’s shoulder and flings him across the room, knocking him out. Shazam and his family try to escape until Shazam just remembers how he escaped when he got them - he thinks hard and zaps then all back to the city. They end up at a winter carnival, Sivana notices the lighting cloud from Shazam’s transformation and goes there. Sivana attacks the carnival and we see that the Santa Claus from the mall is there and begins to run away. Sivana shoots a Ferris wheel and it almost tips over, Sivana and Shazam fight and Sivana throws him into a carnival game - Shazam sees a little girl and her dad scared and Shazam gives the little girl a tiger plush and tells her it will be okay. He goes to fight Sivana again. Fighting ensues, Shazam manages to get ahold of the stick the Wizard used to transmit his power and tells his family to hold onto it and say his name - they all shout billy - he informs them to shout Shazam - they do and a huge lighting strike mixed with smoke everywhere - all we see are 5 yellow lightning bolts -the Shazam family arrives. Freddie immediately begins to fly, they all fight with each of the sins. Shazam and Sivana fly through the skyline fighting in a similar vein to Zod & Supes. They knock over the William Penn statue in city hall, Penn’s head lands on the love display. A little scene of a boy playing with his Batman & Superman action figures - he makes them fly at each other and as they do - Shazam and Sivana do that right outside his window. Back at the carnival, the family is saving people and fighting the sins(except for Mary she gets wrapped up by one of their tentacles and is like barely there.) one of the sins shoots a fireball at Santa Claus but he’s saved by Eugene. the Ferris wheel is almost knocked over but Pedro holds it up - Darla begins to use her ability to speed and slow down time to save the people on the Ferris wheel but she can’t get everyone before Pedro is knocked away and the Ferris wheel takes another hit by one of the deadly sins. As it goes to tip over - Freddie flies in and saves the last two people on it - the bullies. Shazam and Sivana end up on a rooftop and Shazam bullies the one deadly sin who hasn’t come out yet - Envy - it rips itself out of Sivana’s body and that rocks Sivana back and he falls off the roof but he’s able to hold on to the side. Envy has Shazam down but Shazam shouts Shazam and the bolt hurts envy. Shazam grabs Sivana and takes him to the carnival and rips his eye out absorbing all the sins back into it. The day is saved, the Shazam family takes the eye back to the lair and put it there for safe keeping. Shazam and Freddie realize this is their lair. Back home and everyone back to original form - we see a news broadcast about the carnival incident and Santa Claus appears on his cursing that he’s seen everything and lightning is coming out of fucking everything. The foster family all talk and laugh and Billy finally feels happy and safe accepting a family.

At school, Freddie sits down at lunch and the entire table leaves so all his siblings come and sit next to him. The bullies show up and ask if he’s still friends with red cyclone - Shazam shows up and tells the school how Freddie showed him everything it means to be a hero and that he also brought another friend - Superman appears but we don’t see his face.

First credit scene - Sivana in a prison cell doodling the symbols all over the wall until he’s interrupted by mr mind who tells him the pillars of evil will come together.

Second one is a quick throwaway with Shazam trying to talk to fish.
