10 million alone on his costume. There are 10 of them. 1million apiece. So part of that 90 million was on his costume.
doesnt really need to be ridiculous expensive. Plot is the most important thing and making this a fun engaging film is win
Wtf, I definitely don’t want to see this now. They’ve essentially established him a very sub par character when compared to Superman now. Well it doesn’t matter anyway, DCEU isn’t doing connected movies anymore.
Ikr? How will people respect Shazam when he is worth less money than others in the league?
And here I was hoping they'd showcase his powers a decent amount, I'll still see the movie though, maybe it will still be decent.
I think it's going to be more aimed at a younger audience and be more of a comedy with action rather than just a big action blockbuster.
With a budget like that, the film is guaranteed to be a success, only needs to make 500 million and superhero films do that casually.
@lone_wolf_and_cub: Not really the article then stated that the price of million per piece is inflated and is probably not true.
As long as the script’s good it should be alright. The Geoff Johns comic the movie seems to be based from was fairly self contained.
I will not trust budget released by WB. According to them Wonder Woman and Aquaman has same budget. Yeah right!
@geraldofvengerberg: And that can't be because...? Unless ypu are an expert from the industry who knows exactly what is how expensive you can hardly judge it. Pick a more expensive shooting location and you only have quarter of the money left for cgi buildings.
Heck if the rock was still in shazam they probably wpuld hqve half the money for everything else they currently have.

Well, that's par for the course for that character, that DC never tried to really prop up, for fear that he would supplant Superman (like he already did before, when he was at Fawcett's).
Still, you can make real good movies with a reasonable budget. I am rooting for this film.

Hollywood is known for tinkering with their film's budget including inflating budget of successful movies so that their taxes at end of the year is reduced. Here is the Link of the scummy practises they have done
I’m just reiterating, that a budget that small for a character who’s supposed to be a power house will not end well. Judging from the audience, no one wants to see a comedic superhero film with teenagers and meager action. I’ll be the first to predict that this movie won’t make past 300 mill. Even if the alleged budget is 90 mill, something doesn’t add up.
@mr_shazam0920:
yeah man im excited for it more than i am for Endgame to be honest.
@thanos_thebadas: It looks very action heavy.
Switch out Zac Levi with Downey Jr and the budget would double just because of the salary. I dont think the salary involved in shazam is particularly high so that has saved them alot of money. And also dont trust any budget rumors. The only one who really knows are the ones paying for it. I think the budget for this is close to WW
@tethadam: not really probably the same amount of action Captain Marvel will have
