Scott Pilgrim respect thread

This a respect thread for the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels. I will not only talk about the titular main character, but also other people appearing in the novels.

There are some neat feats in the movie, especially for Scott, Ramona and Roxy. If people are interested, I will post these later in this thread. For now, novels only.

Scott Pilgrim

Strength

Gallery

1: Kicks a dude off a roof and sends him flying at high speed

2 - 5: Fights several large, steel robots throughout issue 5. Takes them out with just his fists and a bass guitar

Durability (blunt)

Gallery

1 - 2: Gets suckerpunched and thrown into a castle tower. Totally fine.

3 - 4: Thrown through a wall and into the air long enough for Todd to start brushing his hair. Totally fine.

5: No sells a building falling on top of him. Doubles as a durability feat for Todd as he also brushed it off.

Durability (swords)

Gallery

Takes a bunch of slashes from Gideon's katana, continues to talk relationship matters with Ramona while he does it

Speed and reflexes

Gallery

1: Leaves an afterimage

2 - 4: Dodges and manages to hit Roxy, who moves fte/in a blur

5: Reacts to a blitz from Roxy, who leaves an afterimage

H2H skill and agility

1 - 3: Blocks and counterattacks Matthew. Jumps really high and air juggles/punches him 64 times before they land. Double as a strength feat

Note that he is commonly known as the best fighter in Ontario, a province of 13 million people.

Sword fighting

1 - 3: Kills Roxy with one clean slice (doubles as strength feat because of the high jump and the force needed to slice someone like that)

4: Drives back Gideon, who according to Ramona is an accomplished sword fighter. Sword clashes create electricity.

That concludes the posting for our young boy wonder. Next post will be dedicated to some to the evil exes.

Matthew Pattell

2 - 3: Manages to dodge hits from Scott, although he was not really taking the fight seriously

4 - 5: Uses mystical powers to summon fireball shooting 'demon hipster chicks'. He also shows he can fly

Lukas Lee

Ragdolled Scott with ridiculous ease and threw him several hundred feet (see above)

Todd Ingram

Gallery

1: Reacts to a blitz from Scott

2 - 3: TK makes Scott defenseless. Throws him through a wall and really high in the air.

4 - 5: Brings down a large store with TK

6 - 7: flies to the moon in just 2 panels, which would translate to a few real time seconds.

> The moon is 380.000 km from earth on average. If he gets there in 6 seconds that would put him at over 1/5 the speed of light. At the very least he is sub-relativistic

> Visible craters in the moon = country+ level punching force

8: Punched ANOTHER hole in the moon

Nathalie 'Envy' Adams

2: Totally fine after being hit by Ramona's hammer and send flying. Doubles as a strength feat for Ramona.

3: Kicks Ramona so hard she dents the ceiling of the venue and then picks up her hammer.

Knives Chau

1: Jumps from several stories high with zero issues

2: Jumps really high during her fight with Ramone

3: Covers several dozen meters in one panel

* As shown in Ramona's feats, she has some fighting skills and accuracy

Wallace Wells

*Can use psychic tk after a brief training. This is a good example of video game logic in the verse.

What would be, in your professional opinion, the overall power ranking of the main characters of this verse.

Obviously Todd is a given at #1, but what about the rest of the exes and Scott himself?

The reason I ranked Envy so high is her ridiculous showing against Ramona. Gideon has the glow, so he could probably take Lucas.

I'd actually totally forgotten Envy's showing against Ramona- fair point. Also, how much better do you think EoS Scott would perform against Lucas?

Yeah, relativistic speed and country level striking power kinda comes out of nowhere in an otherwise low-mid tier universe.

@cpt_nice: I really liked the work you did here, although I don't know if high school memories from book 2 can be considered as actual feats as Gideon revealed that he manipulated them in book 6 and even Kim reminded Scott that he fought against a looser not an epic boss dude.

@edbeatle: While I see where you are coming from, there are two things to keep in mind here. 1: Scott's strength has been consistent with that showing, such as when he air punched Matthew high enough for him to air juggle him and 2: if that feat was not something Scott could likely accomplish on his own strength, it would make him think twice about the memory Gideon tempered with.
