Respect Roku
The woman known as Roku once went by a different name -- Angelia Alcott. She was an agent of the organization known as MI-6 and helped to train Colin King, the man better known as Ninjak. Unfortunately, Angelia was killed by assassins who served as agents for the mysterious entity known as the Undead Monk, her body was taken to them and was operated on to turn her into the killer she is today.
Now, as Roku, she serves as an enemy/rival of Ninjak and is a member of the Shadow Seven. In her new form she has a variety of unique abilities that aid her in battle and in acts of espionage.

1.0 | Physical Attributes
While she was already in great physical condition in her original form, as Roku she has an increased level of physical fitness due to the dark rights that were performed on her by the Undead Monk & his forces.
She now has 'body supremacy' which grants her total biophysical alignment which in turn allows her to dislocate and relocate her joints.
Durability
Feats in this category are to showcase her durability and endurance. She also showcases a lot of durability feats in her fights, but those can be seen in the Combat Skill section later in the RT.
HEAT/FLAME
- Ninjak (2015) #23 - Is immune to the incendiary attacks used by Agent Mortar.
PAIN TOLERANCE
- Ninjak (2015) #4 - Her back is broken mid-fight with a demon; she pops it back into place and continues like nothing happened.
- Ninjak (2015) #17 - Is shot in the back twice; gets up, is pierced through the arm by one of Ninjak's swords, and then kills the man who shot her. Is then in a house when it explodes; but had managed to get away at some point as we see her alive at the end of the issue.
- Roku #2 - Gets sliced up a lot by the Minister of Blades; still wins the fight.
POISON
- Ninjak (2015) #3 - Is cut by Ninjak's poison tipped boot-blades; survives.
Speed
Feats in this category are to showcase her combat and reaction speeds. She also showcases a lot of speed feats in her fights, but those can be seen in the Combat Skill section later in the RT. The strength of her hair will be shown in the Hair Manipulation section of the RT.
BLITZING/TRAVEL
- Ninjak (2015) #23 - Is able to outrun sentient motion-sensing pools of acid.
- Ninjak (2015) #26 - Catches Ninjak with a sucker-punch before he can react.
DODGING/REACTION SPEED
- Roku #2 - Catches two ninja stars (with her hair) and throws them back at her foes.
- Roku #2 - Catches two knives thrown by the Minister of Blades.
- Roku #3 - Having been previously KO'd she wakes up and reacts to a group of armed soldiers before they can shoot & kill her.
- Roku #4 - With her hair she stops two knives thrown by the Minister of Blades who has Skean Manipulation, the ability to manipulate bladed weaponry.
Strength
Feats in this category are to showcase her physical strength. She also showcases a lot of strength feats in her fights but those can be seen in the Combat Skill section later in the RT.

- Ninjak (2015) #16 - Breaks Ninjak's sword with a strike.
Senses
Feats in this category are to showcase her sensory abilities such as sight, smell, and hearing.
- Ninjak (2015) #4 - Can remember Ninjak simply by his smell.
2.0 | Hair Manipulation
Roku now has what is known as Psychokinetic hair -- she can manipulate her hair fibers as if they were additional limbs. Her hair is incredibly strong, can become razor sharp, and can generate intense heat & flames.
PIERCING/CUTTING
- Ninjak (2015) #1 - Her hair can cut through Ninjak's sword.
- Ninjak (2015) #2 - Cuts apart two men off panel.
- Ninjak (2015) #4 - Decapitates a demon; we also see some of the incendiary qualities of the hair.
- Ninjak (2015) #17 - Eviscerates Alain; Ninjak's biological father.
- Ninjak (2015) #17 - Kills Ninjak's mother and "father" with her hair tendrils.
- Ninjak v. The Valiant Universe #1 - Pierces a woman's skull, thus killing her instantly.
- Ninjak v. The Valiant Universe #4 - Kills eight soldiers instantly with her hair; she states she simply doesn't have time for them. Worth noting that they appeared to be wearing bulletproof vests.
- Roku #1 - Pierces the heads of two thugs at the same time, killing them.
- Roku #1 - Pierces the head of a thug standing behind her while fighting someone else.
- Roku #2 - Cuts the legs off of one soldier; cuts two others to pieces, and finally impales the last two. She does this all without being in the same room as them.
- Roku #3 - Cuts a soldier's mask in two.
- Roku #4 - Pierces a soldier through the gut & holds him in the air.
STRENGTH (LIFTING/HOLDING/STRIKING)
- Ninjak (2015) #2 - Restrains two grown men.
- Ninjak (2015) #17 - Casually restrains Ninjak and tosses him around into walls and other objects; is then able to break the floor by striking it with her hair.
- Ninjak (2015) #23 - Is able to restrain Sanguine, another member of the Shadow Seven who has an enhanced physiology; we also see her hair heat up, once again displaying it's incendiary qualities.
- Ninjak v. The Valiant Universe #4 - Throws a woman and a child across a room.
- Roku #1 - Lifts up and then slams two thugs into the ground.
- Roku #2- Catches and throws ninja stars with her hair; disarms a ninja and stabs them through the gut with their sword, is able to suspend the body in the air via the sword.
- Roku #2 - Is able to wrap her hair around a wound and apply enough pressure to prevent someone from bleeding out.
- Roku #3 - Tosses several soldiers around a room at once, killing them.
- Roku #3 - Steals a dude's laptop with her hair.
- Roku #4 - Snaps a soldier's neck (who is behind her) while fighting another soldier.
- Roku #4 - Wields four assault rifles with her hair to combat another assassin known as the Minister of Blades.
3.0 | Telepathy & Illusions
Roku is able to implant telepathic suggestions in others and can create realistic illusions to trick her opponents.
ILLUSIONS
- Roku #4 - Creates an illusion of Marybeth whom the Minister of Blades then kills to trick him into thinking he had actually killed her. Marybeth is then revealed to be alive later in the issue.
TELEPATHY
- Ninjak (2015) #23 - Uses her telepathy on Agent Mortar to make him brain dead.
- Roku #1 - Makes two gunmen who wanted to kill her suddenly feel helpless, they then flee.
- Roku #1 - Has a guard in another room open a locked door so she can get inside; then has him commit suicide.
- Roku #1 - Calls upon several guards and instructs them to attack Ember-1.
- Roku #2 - Tells a man to jump out a window; he does.
- Roku #3 - Commands a soldier to report that he had killed her.
- Roku #3 - Uses her telepathy on train passengers so they ignore her.
4.0 | Skills
As a former member of MI-6 (who trained Ninjak) and a current member of the Shadow Seven Roku possesses a high degree of combat and stealth skills that make her a highly effective assassin.
Combat Skills
These are skills related to and utilized in combat situations.
FIGHT v. SINGLE FOE
- Ninjak (2015) #1 - Has a fight with Ninjak; they both get some decent hits on one another before the fight ends.
- Ninjak (2015) #2/3 - Gets the drop on Ninjak and the two fight while free-falling; he believes he killed her due to stabbing her with poison tipped boot-blades and her dropping 20 stories, but she survives.
- Ninjak (2015) #4 - This fight occurs just after she had been 'remade' by the Undead Monk; she kills a demon who breaks her back mid-fight.
- Ninjak (2015) #5 - Fights evenly with Ninjak until Kannon order her to stop. Kannon is later cut to pieces by Ninjak.
- Ninjak (2015) #16 - Wins a fight against Ninjak.
- Ninjak (2015) #26 - Wins a fight against Ninjak; she had some help from Master Darque who restrained Ninjak at one point, but even Ninjak states that all the micro-powered armor in the world wouldn't be enough and that his ability to control his muscles and nerve impulses at the cellular level wouldn't be enough to withstand a prolonged fight with her.
- Roku #1 - Uses her hair manipulation to fight an invisible foe; then fights Ember-1 a bit before fleeing.
- Roku #2 - Fights against the Minister of Blades who can manipulate any bladed weaponry, including her own hair -- eventually wins by throwing him down an elevator shaft.
- Roku #3 - KO's Ember-1; utilizes her hair when not in the same room to do a lot of damage.
FIGHT v. MULTIPLE FOES
- Ninjak (2015) #15 - Quickly dispatches a group of guards.
- Ninjak (2015) #23 - Kills four agents of MI6 to get their unique codes; then breaks into the compound and kills Agent Mortar who was trained since birth to defend his post; then fights an entire group of the Dog Boys (werewolves) and MI6 considers it a minor success that ONE managed to survive.
- Roku #1 - Beats a large group of thugs; good showings for her hair manipulation and some reaction speed in here.
Conclusion
Roku is an incredibly unique and cool addition among street tier characters -- her powers are fitting and make for a devastating weapon against unprepared foes. I hope to use her myself in upcoming debates and will continue to look for more issues starring her.
