The Space Pirate Commander is a long-time nemesis of Samus Aran, notorious for his ability to survive what would appear to be fatal damage.

This thread contains separate sections for the various versions of Ridley. Ridley's clone from Metroid Other M has a separate respect thread, and Neo Ridley is also considered a separate character.

Logbook entry

“The reconstruction of geoform 187, code-named Ridley, was recently completed. After his defeat on Zebes, Command ordered a number of metagenetic improvements for him. Though aggressive, we were able to implement these changes in a cycle. The metamorphosis was painful, but quite successful in the end. Early tests indicate a drastic increase in strength, mobility, and offensive capability. Cybernetic modules and armor plating have been added as well. We believe our creation, now called Meta Ridley, will become the mainstay of our security force, a job he will certainly relish.”

Here's the space pirate general himself! I might add new accolades if I find them. I know there's one on Nintendo Land about Ridley, but I'm not sure if it's canon. I also could have used manga feats, but I don't think I'm going to add those.

In addition, I've been revising many of the previous respect threads, and I might add more to the Dark Samus respect thread.

Other than that, potential threads for the future include the Rhedogian (Metroid fodder for the win!), Chozo, Luminoth, Alimbics, Galactic Federation, and maybe other Metroid fodder like Sheegoth.

I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to make the various organization threads (Chozo, Alimbics, etc) due to the different categories to rate them with. There's also a tremendous amount of material to cover, so I wouldn't expect to see those in the very near future.

Any other suggestions for Metroid characters are welcome! I might end up making respect threads for Legend of Dragoon characters, or maybe other franchises/series like Deltora, Pokemon, or Legend of Zelda, but that's taking a very long view of things.

@blackestnight93: Sure! That seems like it would be manageable (only Prime 2 material to work with, as far as I know), though I might have to decide how much to include (which Ing forms, Darklings, etc). A question I've had is if the Ing, even without using direct control, can control machines, given the mess at Sanctuary, though I think I could try and find that answer with research.

I think a Phaaze/Phazon thread would also be in order, then, seeing as how I've basically made an X one on the SA-X thread, though I didn't mention that the X can download data organically (maybe I'll add that to the thread?).

@amethystgravity: feats for the LoD characters might be interesting. That is definitely a fun and powerful universe, but at the same time I'm not sure how many people on CV here know the lore. Hell, I twas one of my favorite RGP and I can barely remember, Lol!

Regardless, it would be a nice trip down memory lane, and a great reference for the inevitable LoD vs. Power Ranger thread. Lol!

@OniLordAsmodeus: It was one of my favorite games, though I was generally terrible at the gameplay. I din't even have it anymore, but I could try to piece stuff together with walkthroughs on Youtube. It definitely has gameplay mechanics for a lot of feats, though I think between power scaling (with dragons and dragoons), cutscenes, and statements, feats could be figured out.

Is there a rivalry between LoD and Power Rangers?

Thanks! For the manga feats, I might just link the manga chapters and write which scan they show up in, since last time I used them in a CaV, IIRC they disappeared from my image gallery or something.

That'll probably happen later today, unless I forget. :)
