Introduction
The Annihilation Wave was introduced in Annihilation as one of the most brutal and commanding armies in Marvel's history. Running through nearly all established civilisations and led by Annihilus in a bizarre attempt to wipe out all life in the regular Positive Verse, which almost succeeded considering how much damage they did. Since they were taken out initially, they've shown up now and then in small instances, but have always been seen as a major threat that warrants the attention of the whole universe. Air Units
Scan 1/2/3- Blast through the Kyln Moons, which were designed to produce energy off the Big Crunch in next to no time at all. (Annihilation- Prologue)
Scan 4- This resulted in multiple star systems losing a majority of their power at once due to how much energy they produced at that point.
Destroys multiple planets as apart of Tala Prime in a quick stop in their run through the Skrull Empire (Annihilation- Silver Surfer #1)
Easily slice through the Xandar Cluster's defences despite it being a well-protected source of policing in the universe (Annihilation- Prologue)
Has a extremely large of ships at standby (NOT including ground units or whatnot) (Thanos- The Infinity Relativity)
Scan 1/2- Rip apart the Planetkiller, a giant spaceship super weapon made from Builder tech and nearly as large as Jupiter (Avengers #43)
The vast majority of the Army's spaceships are Dreds, which are the size of small moons, and Skiffs, which are the smaller ones that rely on vast numbers and intense borrowing to be effective. There's also Annihilus' Throneship and surrounding battleships which are significantly larger than the Dreds: it's likely these would be at least the size of a planet respectfully considering. Ground Hatchings
A far diminished Wave is able to rip apart Builders (who have been able to tear apart and ravage planets despite the Avengers attempting to assist with members like the Hulk and Thor) they don't get far after the Engineers bypass their genetic code, but it's a great showing considering how potent Builders were. (Avengers #21)
Easily blast through the Skrulls on one of their home planets despite the home advantage (Annihilation Super-Skrull #1)
Get bigger by eating matter (X-Men #2)
These beasts also convert every piece of a planet into food to feed the Wave as it continues onward, allowing them to self-sustain themselves (Annihilation- Silver Surfer #2)
Scan 1/2- No sell Nova Corp members and weapons, as well as overrunning them despite being on their turf. Should be mentioned that the Wave was able to successfully destroy the Nova Corp completely beyond Rider, so pretty damn potent all things considered. (Annihilation- Prologue)
Overwhelm Drax until he's saved by Nova Prime (Annihilation #2)
Scan 1/2- Overwhelm the Kree forces extremely easily after a while of stalemating with a diminished force (Annihilation #2)
Scan 1/2- Their tech is able to send Super Skrull flying with a single shot and stun him. They also overwhelm until being told to retreat. (Annihilation Super-Skrull #1)
Moondragon struggles to TP even a dozen of them reliably due to the hive mind they have. (Annihilation #5)
Scan 1/2- They destroy Glorian's city in next to no time after arriving. (Annihilation- Ronan #3)
Scan 1/2- They overwhelm Glorian to the point that he loses his mind killing them. It should be noted that Glorian is a Tachyon manipulator, basically giving him powers akin to a reality warper in that he can make matter and destroy it with little barriers to what he can actually do. He's remade realities and even developed whole pocket universes, yet the Wave was enough to drive him crazy from the stress of fighting. (Annihilation-Ronan #4)
Scan 1/2- Two of them were enough to beat down Nova by their lonesome, through Nova was still battered from before and far from 100%. (Annihilation Nova #1)
Harvester of Sorrows
Feeds on planets to sustain itself, as a organic creature it can also use said energy to regenerate from enemy damage with ease without any issues. As a result, it's nearly unbeatable. (Annihilation- Nova Corps Files)
Wipes out a Skrull planet by breaking it down into basic elements and wiping it out. (Annihilation Super-Skrull #1)
Damaging the ship to any extent will not do anything as it can simply regenerate or survive in alternative ways (Annihilation Super-Skrull #4)
Regular methods of destroying it wouldn't do anything as explained by its creator. The Harvester eventually gets busted after a Supernova was activated within the inner core, which was the only real way of destroying the whole thing reliably. (Annihilation Super-Skrull #2)
Parasites
They also control Moondragon easily, despite her telepathy intact. This is probably due to them nesting inside biological functions and moving the body beyond their free will, so mental powers would be useless in this context as they can simply control those powers. (Annihilation #4)
Used to control individuals like Terrax and Paibok, as well as Delinquent. (Annihilation #2)
Queens
The Wave relies on three of Annihilus' queens using their telepathic powers to control the extremely large hive-mind that is the Wave itself. This is in part how the Wave is organised beyond Annihilus himself, as well as how telepathic contact is so difficult to commit to as a act, because connecting to even some fodder is connecting to a untold number of species. Scan 1/2- One of them is strong enough to overpower Ronan and hit him surprisingly fast. The Queens are shown to be basically defenceless otherwise in terms of self-defence, through they can still strike back as this shows. (Annihilation- Ronan #4)
Seekers
Scan 1/2- These beefy bois beat up and kill robot Air-Walker (Annihilation- Silver Surfer #1)
They also kill Morg off screen (Annihilation- Silver Surfer #3)
Scan 1/2- They subdue and defeat Terrax after a decent fight. (Annihilation- Silver Surfer #2)
Seekers (Ravenous)
Speed
Destroy millions of worlds within a single day (Annihilation- Nova #4)
Scan 1- Destroys the Skrull Empire in under six months (the Empire naturally expands over a large measure of galaxies at once, so that amount of destruction is pretty big) (Annihilation #1)
Scan 2- The Empire was later scaled up to close to 1000 worlds, which is still a huge amount. (Annihilation Prologue)
Scan 1/2/3- Get to the Xandar Cluster in within a half hour, completely taking the Nova Corp off guard and wiping them out before they could even mount a proper defence. This is the M.O. for the Wave: big numbers, fast speed. (Annihilation- Prologue)
Scan 1/2- Teleport in to ambush the Ex-Herald Squad out of nowhere (Annihilation- Silver Surfer #3)
Technology
Scan 1/2/3- Build devices to successfully contain Galactus and Surfer and convert them into living super-weapons that can ravage a planet into nothing. (Annihilation #2)
Scan 4- It later turns out that Galactus was to be converted into a universe-ending bomb as to remove all life. (Annihilation #4)
Have spy drones on next to every person the Wave consider a threat, regardless of who or where they are (like Onslaught and Supreme Intelligence) (Thanos: The Infinity Relativity)
Manage to disable Pip's teleportation by examining his powers and finding a weakness (Thanos: The Infinity Relativity)
The Wave can easily pour out of anywhere and quickly spread (Avengers #21)
Scan 1/2- They recently have been able to strike anywhere in the universe within a few minutes of set-up, using this method intelligently to wipe out the Shi'ar defences by teleporting mines directly to their ships, and teleporting ground units to the planet itself. (Thanos: The Infinity Relativity)
Scan 1/2- Uses spy drones to get a reading for his army to show up (Thanos: The Infinity Relativity)
Scan 1/2- You also get Waves in hot sauce now because I guess people like eating giant insects? (X-Men #2)
Throneworld
The Throneworld teleports through the Negative Zone to 616 with ease (Thanos: The Infinity Relativity)
Scan 1- Said Throneworld is able to slice through larger planets with little issue using a giant death beam (Thanos: The Infinity Finale)
Scan 2- The Throneworld is able to wipe out Galactus, as well as the Celestial Host, without significant issues.
Scan 3- The planet is so well protected that even Doom and Earth's heroes combined can't get past their defences
Scan 1/2/3- The Homeship also wrecks most of the Earth's superheroes, leaving only Thanos alive. Guys like Gladiator, Loki, Hulk, Thor, all die to the Throneworld's overwhelming offence. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale)
Conclusion
A LOT of offence, eh? I've always been curious of how potent the Wave was, and, well, it's almost comical. You got air support, superweapons, a ground force capable of overrunning even the most advanced species, a supreme numbers game, parasites that can get even more forces to their side, tons of great tech, etc etc. It's little wonder why they were able to do so much damage with such a commanding presence, and that's not even including stuff they had at their peak.
