You can't kill me. I'm something you can't even conceive of.

Introduction

I'm covering some different stuff here than the usual lot. This character doesn't come from DC, or Marvel, but rather the Wildstorm universe, before they merged with DC.

Tao is....interesting, to say the least. His super power is: well, he doesn't have one. He's a genetically engineered human with a unlimited potential for absorbing knowledge, to the extent that he mastered talking to people, he's basically so smart that he can get anyone to do anything in seconds just by communicating to them via speech, mannerisms, etc, and he's done this to cause world wars, disputes and all kinds of mean stuff. He's really hax but in a unique way.

He also got a huge amp, which I'll also be covering.

Durability

No Caption Provided

Stays conscious despite being kicked through a tree. (Gen 13 #50)

Hyper Intelligence

No Caption Provided

Described as entering a strategic thinking so powerful that trying to explain it would be like like explaining quantum physics to a ant. (Wildstorm Universe 97 #1)

No Caption Provided

His very words are described as like bullets, and those listening to them were essentially playing Russian Roulette. (The Authority #1)

Scan 1/2- As a teenager, he had read every bit of human knowledge that was ever written, even forbidden texts. (Sleeper #12)

Scan 1/2- Convinces Majestic to change his position with a few simple sentences (this would be the first and most subtle use of his logical powers) (WildC.A.T.s #21)

No Caption Provided

Convinces Grifter not to kill him easily. (WildC.A.T.s #34)

No Caption Provided

Even when he had his tongue cut out and trapped in a sound proof jail, he managed to use his powers simply using non verbal methods. (The Authority #1)

No Caption Provided

Was speaking full sentences at a week old, having a full sense of self at a very young age. (Sleeper #12)

Scan 1/2- Figures out his chief researcher is cheating on his wife despite being trapped in a container for most of his life. (WildC.A.T.s #21)

Scan 1/2/3- Grifter (a dude with intense training against mind based assaults) gets toyed around with, forced to kill his friend, hide the evidence afterwards and then is made to forget it even happened. Keep in mind that Grifter is a war vet, a dude who's resisted the worst torture known to man and has massive amounts of willpower, but Tao just breaks the dude casually and uses him as a puppet. (Point Blank #5)

Scan 4- Afterwards Grifter has no knowledge of even meeting Tao, and he's left in the pub again.

Scan 1/2- Figures out Ladytron's personal past simply by being around her and manages to break her armor in seconds, something she didn't even know about herself. (WildC.A.T.s #33)

Scan 1- Easily manages to get into Grifter's head again and breaks him in just three seconds of talking, which is insanely fast. (Sleeper Season Two #9)

Scan 2- Afterwards Grifter is described as like a robot, a clear sign of Tao's mental mindgames impacting on him.

No Caption Provided

Tao could also look like anyone by planting the thought in their heads. (Gen 13 #50)

Scan 1/2- Traps Fuji, a giant cyborg, in a discourse based loop that breaks his mind for months. Tao had never met Fuji before, yet he completely messes him up with minimal exposure. (WildC.A.T.s #33)

Scan 3- It is stated after he is found that he is suffering from severe trauma.

Scan 1/2- Turns a bunch of Black Razors (top secret governmental agents) into mental zombies under his command. (Gen13 #20)

Speed/Skill

No Caption Provided

Casually dodges around a giant mech with ease. (WildC.A.T.s #23)

Scan 1/2/3- Stomps and kills two full black ops teams in what appears to be seconds despite appearing to be ambushed. (Sleeper Season Two #5)

Scan 4- It was later confirmed that he killed about ten people.

Scan 1/2/3- Stomps Helspont in one shot using pressure points (Helspont has hurt Mr Majestic and Superman pretty badly, and brawled with them in the past, which actually makes this feat in retrospect pretty silly in terms of implication) (Gen13 #50)

Technology

Scan 1- Designs a subsonic subliminal message (which doesn't work on John Lynch cuz of his unique mental state) (Gen13 #20)

Scan 2- John later on reinforces this position, stating his mind was implanted with tech uniquely to counter Tao's stuff

Void/Providence Amp

Scan 1/2/3- With the power of the reality altering Void under his control, Tao could project his voice worldwide to anyone he wanted, making him almost unbeatable (this allowed him to essentially play everyone for years on end and create multiple world disasters) (The Authority #7)

No Caption Provided

By leeching the energy from Void and Providence, he slowly started gaining enough power to challenge Max Faraway, a dude who almost altered the whole universe by himself and was only stopped by his own human limitations (much like Molecule Man in Marvel) (WildCats- World's End #13)

No Caption Provided

Depowers Maul and one shots him. (WildCats- World's End #13)

No Caption Provided

Pulls out multiple Spartan clones using his reality warping powers. (WildCats- World's End #14)

No Caption Provided

Understands the nature of magic itself and isn't effected by it. (WildCats- World's End #13)

Scan 1/2- Turns dozens of semi automatic rounds into butterflies casually. (WildCats- World's End #13)

No Caption Provided

Reality warps multiple people using his powers. (WildCats- World's End #14)

Scan 1/2- The only thing that could keep Tao down was the Creation Blades, which were created to slice through literally anything and everything, being forged by a machine capable of creating or destroying anything in the universe. (WildCats- World's End #16)

Scan 1/2- Even when multiple people were given the same godlike powers he had, Tao is still able to easily manipulate them all using his Void projections to get in their heads. (WildCats- World's End #17)

No Caption Provided

It is stated that Tao in this form was radiating the raw power of the Big Bang itself, and no one could really fight him off including Faraway himself (to kill him completely, they needed him to give up most of his new power, at least enough to be killed in order to be defeated) (WildCats- World's End #17)

Conclusion

Through Tao's hax is unclear at times, it is undeniably broken as a "power" as it allows him to bypass superhuman stats far beyond him simply through his pseudo-logic crap, and this can be done in seconds rather easily. He's a unique character written fantastically (when he was penned by Alan Moore, who created the character himself) and it sucks that he seems to have been ignored in the DC reboot of the Wildstorm universe as he would be great to see as a antagonist, but I guess it's hard to write when he's so broken lol

Hmmm, interesting power set. Never been that interested in Wildstorm titles outside of Ellis and Cassaday's "Planetary" but still, his power set's intriguing.

Would you be interested in a certain villain known as Kid Marvelman/Kid Miracleman? Nasty psychotic fellow that used to be a Captain Marvel Jr. homage turned into something closer to Black Adam. One of Alan Moore's best. @professorrespect
