Report: George Miller to Direct 'Man of Steel' Sequel

According to director of "The Death of Superman Lives" Jon Schnepp, who appeared on the YouTube show "PopCorn Talk," stated that George Miller, the director of the recent smash hit Mad Max: Fury Road, will reportedly be the director of Man of Steel 2, the true sequel to Man of Steel.

George Miller. He's doing Man of Steel 2. Obviously, Zack Snyder is doing Justice League 1 and 2. We already got James Wan doing Aquaman. Waterman I think they should change the title, but yeah I think George Miller is a perfect choice to do Man of Steel 2, he's going to bring so much to it.

Man of Steel 2 is not in the line-up for upcoming DC films though, which are slated up until 2020. Obviously, it's possible they could fit it in somewhere, but as of right now, there's no news from Warner Brothers to lend his statement any credibility, but we will keep you updated as more develops.

BvS is MoS 2. It picks up directly where the other left off and actually has Bats doing stuff DURING the events of MoS.

They were just scared to do MoS 2 before putting Bats out front again.

They should've brought in George from the beginning. They don't make hacks bigger than Zack Snyder.

@zackisme: 300 was mostly all style and wasnt much else, Sucker Punch couldnt tell if it wanted to mock female exploitation or revel in it and was mostly just cool music videos, Watchmen was full of terrible acting except Hallie and Morgan and was too obsessed with trying to look cool, and MoS was decent. I havent seen his other films maybe they are better.

It would be hard to find a director worse than zack Snyder, unless they decide to resurrect Ed Wood as a zombie.

Considering Snyder is directing JL 1 and 2. So he won't have time for MoS 2...thankfully.

Oh dear lord...this is what it's come to. Hyperbole outside of comics. Which would be fine, if Fury Road was actually close to that, but its not so...eh.

No to the first, yes to the second. We all knew DC couldn't wait a decade to reboot the Batman franchise, so we'll just take it on the chin. But BvS is more a Spin-Off. In the same way the first episode of Arrow that featured Barry Allen was like a backdoor pilot, BvS is that, just for Justice League.

Man of Steel is Superman's story. BvS is the story of how The League was born.

In summary: George Miller has major Hollywood street cred (even though I have never watched his well received Mad Max films) and should've been the go to guy in the first place. That's what I'm getting from the report and I love it.

Snyder lovers saying that Mad Max was crap. Why God.

People are acting as if this means Superman got kicked off Superman or something. He's leaving Superman to do the Justice League people! That means he's gonna have more or less control over all the characters. He probably met with Miller to talk about Superman so Zack is still gonna be involved in a way. Suck for anyone who hates Snyder, good for those of use who loved MoS and are looking forward to BvS.

Fury Road was fantastic, maybe we'll finally get a good Superman film.

I don't believe it until it's confirmed, because Miller is a guy who doesn't like CGI very much and prefers to make stuff as real as it actually looks. And thats fine when you are dealing with humans, but not people who fly and shoot lasers out of their eyes.
