Rate The Villain : Helmut Zemo (MCU)

10/10 -My favorite MCU Villain, he was one of the villains who I actually felt sympathy for, his plan was very intriguing and his intellect and strategy was amazing too.

That's not Helmut Zemo! That's impostor!

8/10. Sure some might argue that he had nothing in common with his comic book counterpart but I liked how he wasn't as "theatric" as other MCU villains, more serious and down to Earth.

He actually defeated The Avengers without throwing a single punch.

7. A fine villain, just fine.

He was a well played character with a simple motive. 8 is what he is.

People saying he's nothing like the comic version are ignoring Helmut Zemo's very first appearance, where he wasn't scarred, showed no support for the Nazi cause and simply wanted revenge on Cap for killing his father (which isn't exactly how it happened but that's how these things go...).

With that in mind, the movie version is in line with Helmut. It's only later he got scarred and went all Nazi.

I'd rather this one about 8/10.

9. Had a plan that was rooted in personal loss, great acting, and was able to completely destroy The Avengers without ever fighting them. Great villain in a great movie.

In my opinion , a solid 8.5 , I enjoyed him and he had clear reason for doing what he was.

True. His dumb luck and plot armor took care of it all.

As Helmut Zemo he's 1. Absolutely nonsensical adaptation of the character.

But as this specific MCU byproduct I'll say he's 6-7. Nice motivation and execution, but lots of plot conveniences that lessened these achievements .

He would be decent (7) if it is a thriller movie (or if it's a small rostered and "down-to-earth" like the winter soldier film).

Tony seems more like the big bad of CW in my opinion and Helmut is more like a plot device that sets the stage for Tony.

For a huge roster Super Hero movie, Helmut was lacking in luster for a final boss (5-6).

Even if you considered him as some kind of a mega mind villain, his presences reeks of "small fry-niness" and his devices are pretty convenient that it is somewhat hard to believe that the Avengers would fall for his straight forward machination.
