Fun movie, great soundtrack, visuals, heart, and characters. However, the characters aren't written similarly to their comic counterparts at all (they just seem like archetypes), the plot is pretty thin (another macguffin MCU movie), the villain is easily forgettable, and the ending is just.....ugh...really?

Definitely a 9. One of my top three superhero movies of all time.

A 7 honestly. A fun time at the theaters, but nothing more than that.

9/10. Did a good job of introducing a plethora of unknown heroes to the public, had a solid story, great visuals, outstanding soundtrack, it had heart, and ended in a way that could easily leave it as a standalone film or have a sequel. It helped give backstory to the infinity stones, introduced the cosmic aspect to the MCU, and rivals the first Avengers film in terms of response from the audience.

I dont give a crap about the soundtrack truthfully I liked very little of it. The movie itself was the only Marvel movie I went to see in theatres since Iron Man 2 and the only one I liked since the 1st Thor.

Maybe they were upside down and thought they were voting a 9? That's the most realistic possibility I can think of.

It's a solid 7 but no more than that. As people have said before me, it's a McGuffin-type of story, nothing original about it, and the characters are just archetypes. It had more potential than it achieved, actually, the Marvel lore is so deep that it could have easily achieved proportions even bigger than Star Wars, and yet it did not.

It's definitely not a bad movie, but it isn't as good as it could have been.

10. It's my fourth favorite CBM of all time, behind only (from least to greatest) Watchmen, The Avengers, and The Dark Knight.

I'd give it an 8 because of the characterization changes in Gamora and Ronan (originally I'd say Yondu as well, but he's growing on me). I thought it was great and look forward to the next one.

Bit bias here but I gave it a 10. I saw this four times in theaters (I rarely go for second theater viewings) and watch this whenever I want to lighten up my mood. It's not a perfect movie but it hits just the right notes with me regardless. Really hoping Volume 2 lives up to expectations.

9. My favorite MCU movie.

• Korath the pursuer was never even called by his name; just chief henchman

• Too many one liner sentences used to string along the plot. Ergo, if you miss one tid-bit the movie will lose it's viewers focus
• Lost potential for decent fight scenes (HUGE FAIL)

1. Where was Groot when Drax was getting pummeled on Nowhere? He was on the ground, and a Groot & Drax vs. Ronan fight would have been spectacular
2. Obviously the piss poor anti-climactic ending/danceoff

• Karen Gillian should have been given more background/screen time (same for gamora)

A solid 7 and way too overrated.

It's definitely a 7. Tons of fun with a great sound track and really neat character designs. Didn't dislike any of the main cast and I'd definitely watch it again. Villain was weak though and the story wasn't anything spectacular.

Its a solid film, but the humor gets toxic really fast, none of the characters have any lasting value, and Ronan was a terrible villain.
