Rate the Fight Scene: Wonder Woman vs Ares

Think it's rather well done. There's a lot of CGI ofc, but it's cut with enough real footage to make it work. And it has 'the feels' of us loosing one of the characters that had been with us from the start of this movie.

I haven't seen the movie yet. but I plan on it soon. From the look of it, from a choreograph perspective there was nothing visually interesting about it. I would have liked Ares to be more of a skilled fighter, and not just a powerhouse. One of the things I liked about Azz's Ares, was how he was a great hand to hand fighter, the best... cus you know... God of War.

Disclaimer: I post this understanding that maybe Azz wasn't the first one to do this, but he's where I first saw it. If someone else had done it before him, that's cool. Don't rip my head off.

Barely a 4, close to 3. Some cool moments, some crappy CGI. The end was a bit underwhelming.

@saintwildcard: Ares was actually already a pretty skilled fighter in pre52, but so extremely powerful that it was just very rarely brought up ;)

Wait, you're not talking about pre-52 Ares and Diana right?

Because even though Diana was quasi created to counter Ares her standard version was never close(i mean pre-52 Ares goes pretty much from teambuster to skyfather lvl), just her full power Spirit of Truth aka Goddess of Truth Diana would be really a perfect counter to him.

Well I mean within the context of the movie. If Ares has been hyped up as this great fighter even in the Pre 52, that would have been cool to see in the movie. A fight between two warrior gods, as opposed to some generic powers he had. Some cool hand to hand fight, or sword fights. Give Superman vs Zod a run for its money.

A solid 2/5, as the CGI was a bit off-putting and the tone/characterization in this moment seemed to offset everything that had been built up prior to the fight.
