- Terminator Trilogy – 3,3,2 = 8 (First two are classic films. Third one is ok)

- Alien Trilogy – 3,3,2 = 8 (First two are classic films. Third one is ok)

- Godfather Trilogy – 3,3,1 = 7 (Best one two combo. Held back by 3^rd film)

- Indiana Jones Trilogy – 3,2,2 = 7 (Great first film. Gets progressively worse)

- Captain America Trilogy - 1,3,3 = 7 (First movie is weak. Next two are great)

- The Dark Knight Trilogy- 2,3,2 = 7 (All time great middle film sandwiched between 2 pretty good movies

- Back to the Future Trilogy – 3,2,2 = 7 (Consistently good trilogy. First film is a classic)

This is a rough estimate of my rankings, and idk where Star Wars prequels would fall though.

The rest of the trilogies not listed here are more or less irrelevant to me. Although X-Men might be worth a rewatch in a particular order just so I could see the Dark Phoenix and see how it all wraps up.

Ranked based on consistency, character development and overall structure. The best trilogies don't necessarely have the best movies: what matters the most is how each story is put together in the greater journey. LOTR is excelent in every aspect.
