OT Yoda>=<Qui-gon>Ben>>>>>TLJ Luke
(Sidious isn’t a Jedi so I’m not including him)
Is this depressed and suicidal TLJ Luke or "redeemed" TLJ Luke?
I'd say it goes like this:
Luke > ESB/ROTJ Yoda > Qui-Gon Jinn > Ben Kenobi > Depressed Luke > Sidious.

I'd say it goes like this:
Luke > ESB/ROTJ Yoda > Qui-Gon Jinn > Ben Kenobi > Depressed Luke > Sidious.
Rededemd Luke isn't saying anything new that we haven't seen before from Yoda or Jinn.
In fact I'd say TROS retroactively made him worse, because his decision not to redeem Kylo looks bad given that Kylo turned back to the light.

He is the same person that successfully redeemed Darth Vader and rebuilt the Jedi, by all intents and purposes, he's ROTJ Luke but with more years of experience and more humble due to his experiences of learning from his failures, while Yoda tought one could not return from the Dark Side, Luke proved him wrong, and Luke is still vehemently insisting that Kylo is not "gone", (meaning that he can be redeemed) when Leia claims her son is lost forever:
He didin't redeem Kylo himself, because it wasn't his place to do it, he is the reason Kylo turned to the Dark Side, he wouldn't listen to him, but his actions and words to Leia are what led her to be the one that redeemed Kylo, even when she was losing hope.
@daddyprometheus: He's also the same person who failed Kylo and his students. He's directly responsible for this.
It's also Yoda who is the one that convinces Luke to forgive himself and go and help Rey. He's the one who gave Luke hope. So if Luke went on to give Leia and the resistance hope, its because of Yoda.
@frozen: He is directly responsible for this due to his weakest moments, but that doesn't take away from his current wisdom at all.
And yes, it is thanks to Yoda that he returned to his real self, but the drive to redeem Kylo is purely his, at no point Yoda tells him to go redeem Kylo, he simply helps Luke to put himself together.
I'm not trying to downplay Yoda's wisdom, and he was definetly wiser than ROTJ Luke in some cases (like the lesson in failure that Luke had yet to learn) but in an overall sense, and especially after that last lesson, Luke's overall package is what truly represents Jedi Philosophy, with everything he learned from Yoda on top of what came directly from his own heart.
