I have a theory. It might be that the scars and cuts on his face are permanent because he had them before his healing factor.

More importantly, why do people try adding attractive male to his page. I've had to reject subs with that more than once. I think I gotta start going after points if people start doing that.

Cancer in theory can be healed it's just defective cells is all. The scars is complicated so I'm not exactly sure though.

It did have to do with the cancer he had. In Department K (I think) he volunteered for experiements that were supposed to give him a healing factor like Wolverine's. Basically they were messing with him genetically and the process got screwed up, leaving him disfigured.

Basically you can say that his body thinks he's supposed to look like that.

I actually know the answer to this.

It is because his healing factor isn't perfect. Wolverine regenerates when he's injured, Deadpool is always regenerating. That's also why he's a bit nuts, 'perpetual cellular fluctuation' to quote Beast.

Maybe people mix up the concept of physically attractive with charismatically attractive? (Someone can be both or neither or one or the other). Or they somehow find whatever it is with Deadpool attractive, which would invalidate the attractive male/female, because anyone can find whatever attractive. "I find Man-Thing's dangly things on his face so attractive"
