@mrtrey: If you pause it after the explosion, you can see how looks like in comparison to the clouds. To me that looks more likely to be a nuke or just a large explosion of some sort.
@kanyecosby: There is a shot like that in the original storyline where Jean eats a star. The inhabitants of a planet see their sun go supernova from above.
@lan_fan: She didn’t want to disintegrate him. If she wanted to she would have because earlier in the movie she threw Wolverine across a room and knocked him out. So she was actually holding back. Apocalypse also had a healing factor and that didn’t stop her from disintegrating him now did it?
The telepathic battle happened in the comic and 90s cartoon. In X3, Xavier says he can’t get into Jean’s mind because she easily blocks him out. Jean simply levitates him and obliterates his body. Its like how Wolverine resists Xavier’s powers and incapacitates him in Logan, its a not battle.
@lan_fan: Jean herself says “You would die for them?” suggesting that could kill him and just wanted to see if he would risk his life for everyone else. And again, she had already KO’d him before what was stopping her from doing it again?

@helloman: I do believe Thanos will come on top. But the trailer showed Jean reacting to Quicksilver and the alien entity apparently destroying a star.
