I've for a while thought it'd make around 1.6-1.8 bill...

However, with the crazy success of BP and Disney's wise marketing of BP, Wakanda, and supporting characters involved with IW, I can see this having a shot at 2 bill!

There is no comparison between the two. Gone with the Wind came out at a time when there was no TV, no DVD, no cable. If you wanted to see a movie you pretty much had to see it when it came out at the theater. These days millions are content to wait to see it on cable or get it on DVD or even stream it for free somewhere.

Around US$1.6 billion if the hype for the MCU ending is there. US$1.4 billion if its not yet that hyped. If you are predicting something close to US$2 billion or even more, you are overestimating the target audience. The audience for GOTG films and other Marvel characters are mostly shared. Adding the GOTG will not sharply increase the turnout rate for a Marvel film.

The Avengers 2012 showed the massive hype with US$1.5 billion revenue. Age of Ultron 2015 achieved US$1.4 billion, which is still massive but showed the target audience had kind of peaked out.

It had nothing to do with the audience peaking out, it was solely down to the marketing, which was atrocious, add to the fact that the film is atrocious.

2 Billion. Even if it's bad, the hype MCU has build up over all these years is gonna cause it to do that good.

@citizensurfer: The marketing for AOU was good... there was tons of hype for that film. Superhero films aint Avengers 1 level big anymore. Infinity War is in the same situation as AOU, it has tons of hype but this time added factors such as GOTG , BP and Thanos. It will probs make 1.6bill max.

No it really isn't. It has had a tremendous marketing campaign and houses the most anticipated villain of the decade. AOU had a dreadful marketing campaign and a seriously lackluster villain who was trying to be funny.

it has tons of hype but this time added factors such as GOTG , BP and Thanos.

Don't forget the following characters:

• Doctor Strange
• Ant-Man
• Dozens of supporting characters who I can't be arsed listing.

Might actually hit 2 Billion. If Avatar did it(thats the movie that did it right) there's no stopping Infinity War from doing it, except for those certain DC fans that will try and boycott it. Also take into account most people will most likely watch at least twice
