If this was opening on a normal weekend, based on the trailer- 240M domestic, 650M global. If it opens against 3 other blockbusters as currently slated, $170M domestic, 550M global.

@ace786ace: how? If he wasn’t Superman then Henry Cavill/WB would’ve announced it. Last thing we heard is Cavill’s manager saying that the suit is still in his closet, WB saying their relationship with Cavill hasn’t changed and a Cryptic video from Henry. Our best bet is to wait for SDCC for any announcements or even a potential Shazam cameo if they finished negotiations in time.
I think the most common reason people hope a film bombs because they hated the franchise and wanted it to end.
For most franchises I guess it is justifiable for personal dislike but I am not sure whether specifically wishing for a franchise to end is really that important for a cinematic universe like the MCU/DCEU. I mean, if for example, people may hate Batman and Superman's portrayal in the DCEU, but liked Wonder Woman's portrayal. What's wrong with supporting the franchise to continue with Wonder Woman and other potentially be well-received series (Aquaman, Shazam), while hoping they stop portraying Batman/Superman?
WB did badly but stop putting all the blame on them. Zack Snyder shares quite a significant part of the blame as one of the leaders. It is ridiculous that a particular fanbase (DCEU) blames the studio and everyone else but the director while another particular fanbase (Transformers) blames nobody else but the director.
