Poll Old Man Logan Series: Do you care if the villains job? (23 votes)

I don't like it if villains job, not because of feats but because the point of a villain is to pose an opposition and give the hero a hard time. If he jobs and gets beaten down as if the hero's Dwayne Johnson and the villain's a child, it takes away the whole feeling of fear for the hero losing. This is only the case if the villain is supposed to be a physical threat like Bane to Batman, or Venom to Spiderman. This doesn't count for me if it's a villain of brains and not physical opposition, like Riddler to Batman. Look at the following for example. Ace was hyped up to be strong as hell, powerful and strong, yet Superman beats him down like a cockroach:
That's why I like it when the villains are stronger and more powerful than the hero, like Doomsday in the following video from Superman Doomsday:
You get the impression that the villain's unstoppable and powerful, and that the hero has to work for it and make sacrifices.
Just compare the two. Ace seems like an unharmful flie while Doomsday seems like an unstoppable killing machine challenging the hero to his last breath.
A villain that jobs isn't a villain, he's a fodder.
@worldofthunder: Yeah, I'm totally cool with the villains losing, but Gorgon was walked all over at least twice, Bullseye didn't really even pose a threat, and I've read this week's upcoming issue of Old Man Logan and one of his most obvious physical attributes (high tolerance against blunt force trauma) is completely disregarded.
@k4tzm4n: Agreed.
Everyone jobs at some point. Hell, Batman was reduced to struggling with KGBeast, and couldn't beat Asrael lol
@k4tzm4n: did you see him fight the Gorgon?
And yes, when villains repeatedly job it affects the integrity of the story.
I don’t like it when villains job for the sake of the plot. I’d rather then lose via BFR or some other cheap method, rather then just get beat. *cough* Gorgon *cough*

Yes, Gorgon was massively downplayed.
Ehh, Logan should've killed Kraven.
Kraven's immortal after Grim Hunt - dude can survive virtually anything. So it was weird having him dropping by being stabbed by like, just the tip of Wolverine's claws. And his durability is above normal - Spider-Man has commented on it and needs to use strong strikes and Kraven's withstood a lot of blunt force trauma - but Logan knocked him out with his non-adamantium-laced fist :(
Yes, I dislike when villains job just for making the heroes look good. There is a difference between losing after a nice respectable fight and outright jobbing because the author clearly has no respect for the character. Looking at you, Gorgon.
Maestro was pathetic as was Gorgon.
Damn really?
That's extremely upsetting given how good of a villain he is.
@entropy_aegis: I think Gorgon had the worst showing. All talk and never does anything even remotely impressive. Just felt like confident fodder. At least Maestro felt somewhat imposing, you know?

@theacidskull: I liked his personality but powerhouse he certainly was not. Nowhere near the level of Future Imperfect.
@k4tzm4n: Gorgon was just dismal.

I was waiting for claws to the face but it didn't happen :(

Damn, that's very disappointing.
Marvel strangely keeps watering down some of their powerful characters. The asguardians specifically have had it rough for a few years.

Pretty sure it broke @morpheus_'s heart.
