No love for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch? Nurtured in infancy by an evolved Cow-woman, grow up thinking your parents are gypsies, then come think your parents are a couple retired super-heroes and then learn later that no, your father is actually one of the world's greatest supervillains (plus he used to be your abusive boss). If convoluted counts as strange, these two are contenders.
@wundagoreborn: the wolverine movie origin is in the same vat
@leokearon: haha this shit is too damn funny
Fantomex. Hands down bizarre-est origin ever. He was grown to be a the generic super spy assassin based on a Saturday morning kids super hero show, in a weapon X facility in England in a giant dome, where he was grown in a false reality to make him into the super spy assassin. Oh and when he hit puberty he threw up a space ship and don't even get me started on the 3 brain thing.
Blue Devil is up there.
Hollywood stuntman Dan Cassidy is wearing a SUPER high tech mechanized devil suit which is magically fused to his body...after other set workers accidentally set free a demon which Cassidy fights off.
@hyperman: The original golden age Black Condor who somehow was raised by birds. He also somehow got his powers by being raid by them somehow, though that admittedly got retconned to him only believing he got his powers from that.
You mean raped? Because that is some seriously messed ups stuff.

THIS.
Just even thinking about Fantomex and Morrison ect.. another one his characters. That guy he did, Noh-Varr. The extra-dimensional Kree space traveler with cockroach DNA and nanotech salvia that got shot down to earth by a mad scientist. That has got to be up with the wackiest origins too.
@hit_monkey: Damn. The more I think about it the more there are soo many characters I know quite well but I couldn't even begin to explain to you where they came from and what their powers are.
love the video. I'd pick the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom as my favorite weird yet cool origin.
Haunt comes to mind.
I don't really know who's got the WEIRDEST origin, because they all sounded pretty eff'd up, but if you watch the background when Peter David is talking, there's a guy in a pretty awesome earth-22 (i think?) superman suit (I know it's the Kingdom Come suit). Maybe... Cable, I mean, he's the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey (sorry, clone of Jean Grey created by Mr. Sinister) then is sent to an apocalyptic future (once again, the future where Apocalypse rules) and is raised by said characters (Scott and clone Jean [Madelyne Pryor]) who was also sent to the future under fake names by their daughter from another time who is actually older than them. So Scott and Madelyne raise Cable to be a soldier in the future and then all go back in time in a spaceship to fight the clone of Cable (Stryfe). Also Cable is dying of a disease that's turning him into a robot. Until said disease is cured and his left side of body is robotic. So yes, pretty eff'd up I do say so myself.
Out of the 28 or so years of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that has been written, the current protagonist of the 8th ongoing volume has the weirdest origin of all the others in the series.
He's literally an amalgam, a human made out of two characters combining into one both in body and soul. This happened by burying two bodies in the proximity of some cursed cliff walls. One of the bodies belonged to a rebooted version of one of the main villains in the prior continuity. The other half of the character has yet to be revealed.
The protagonist in the fifth volume is pretty bizarre as well.
The illegitimate child of an Italian woman and a vampire head mounted on the body of his nemesis.
