Respect Nikkos Tyris:

"Nikkos Tyris-his name came easily to me"

COMBAT SKILLS

"Combat Skills" is a vague term referring to a character's skill with a weapon, or H2H Combat.

He beats Nejaa Halcyon in a lightsaber duel with ease, who stalemated Post-AOTC Anakin Skywalker:

The Anzati, taller than me, darker, entirely humanoid save for the proboscises uncurling in his excitement, ignited his blue blade and closed with me. Nikkos Tyris-his name came easily to me-held his lightsaber in a guard I'd not seen before. He had his left hand on the hilt fairly close to the shimmering blade, but the blade itself extended out and down from the lower edge of his hand toward the ground. His right hand rode the lightsaber's pommel. Holding the blade out away from his body, with his right hand at the level of his chin, he could waggle the blade back and forth in a triangle of coverage that would ward him well. This triangle style-the thought suddenly came to me like a long lost memory-favored a man who was quick, and would combine sweeping strikes at my legs with a flick of the wrist cut that would open me from groin to chin.

I knew fear, but the person I was in the dream shunted it away. I held my silvery blade in a simple guard, though I tilted the blade forward, pointing it at his throat. We circled, then he struck. His blade flicked out for my right leg. I swept my blade down to block low right, sparks flying as our blades crashed into each other. He bounced his blade up and over mine, and brought it across in a slash meant to decapitate me.

I caught the acrid stink as some of my hair melted beneath the lightsaber's lethal caress, but I ducked the blow by a safe margin. Rotating my wrists, I swept my blade back low, through where his legs should have been, but he leaped up and away from my strike. He flipped backward through the air, displaying great ability with levitation, and landed easily four meters away from me.

I could feel blood coating the left side of my face and swiped at it with the left sleeve of my tunic. I heard the crunch of gravel beneath his boots as Tyris approached. Drawing myself up into a crouch, I glanced to my right and finally saw my lightsaber lying there, two meters away. I wanted to call it to my hand, but I knew it would never come. I could dive for it, but his lightsaber would pin me to the ground before I ever got there.

"So, it is true, what they have said about the Halcyon line. You are wingclipped mynocks." An evil smile spread across Tyris's face as he brought his lightsaber around to display for me the tool of my destruction. "You are a line of weakness." I smiled, knowing what I had to do. "We have our strengths."

"Do you?" He whisked the blade back around to his left, preparatory to sweeping it through me. "Better summon one swiftly."

I launched myself toward my lightsaber, my right hand reaching for it. My body twisted in the air as I flew. I landed on my back, skidding the last centimeters to where my hand closed on the blade's hilt. Even as I tightened my grip, even as I started to bring the blade around in a parry, I knew I would be too late. So did Tyris.

He stabbed his blade down through my chest. The azure blade melted flesh and boiled blood as it went, reducing my heart to sweet smoke and steam. On further it stabbed, explod-ing arteries and burning through my spine. The lower part of my body went numb, though I barely noticed because of the wave of agony surging up through me and into my brain. It threatened to overwhelm me, letting darkness nibble into my sight. I was dying and I knew it and regrets poured in with the pain.

Nejaa Halcyon has a vision that implies he and the 2 other Jedi Masters (It'kla and Desertwind) would be slain by Tyris if he couldn't stop him (which is highly impressive, considering that the 2 other masters had already slain several members of the Jensaarai, including Dustrose and Sukarr):

In the second of life he left me, I caught a vision of him standing above me and my dead comrades. Our slain bodies faded away, but his mocking laughter did not. I knew with a certainty as clear and hard as transparisteel that if I did not deal with Tyris, my friends and our mission here would be destroyed. I couldn't let that happen, so I acted.

Source: I, Jedi

Desertwind claims that Tyris could have taken any of them in lightsaber combat, and cements Tyris' superiority with a lightsaber over Nejaa Halcyon:

I knelt in the dirt, cradling my friend's head in my lap. Desertwind stood by my side, resting a hand on my shoulder. "I think he knew Tyris was a good enough swordsman to get one or the other of us. Nejaa knew he could not defeat him with a lightsaber, so he found another means to protect us."

Source: I, Jedi

Tyris is a master of Form V - Shien, as well as a master of the Jensaarai Martial Art "Rek'dul":

Many defenders master a variant lightsaber combat style known as Shien, as well their own martial arts style, called Rek'dul.

Tyris (along with other Jensaarai Defenders) is a formidable opponent when fighting in a small group, especially in melee combat:

Jensaarai Defenders are formidable enemies when encountered in small groups, especially when they can get close enough to engage their enemies in melee combat.

Source: Threats of the Galaxy

Tyris (and other Anzati) can use his proboscises as a weapon:

A successful unarmed melee attack against a grappled, stunned, or helpless creature allows the Anzat to insert his proboscises into the creature's brain (usually through its sinus cavaties) and drain its "soup".

A successful attack stuns the victim, and the stun effect remains until the Anzat withdraws its proboscises or dies.

TELEKINESIS

Telekinesis is an umbrella term that defines the ability to move objects or people with the Force. Powers that manifest under this term include Force Push, Force Repulse, Force Wave, Levitation, etc.

Tyris uses TK on Nejaa Halcyon that forces him back, he then demonstrates Ballistakinesis against Halcyon:

His dark eyes blazed for a moment, then an invisible fist smashed into my chest, knocking me backward. He freed his right hand from his azure blade, and flicked fingers at me with the most casual of gestures. A fist-sized stone shot at me from the ground, clipping me on the left shoulder. Pain shot through my arm, leaving it numb. He laughed and hurled another stone toward me. I deflected it with my lightsaber and smiled, then another rock slammed into the left side of my head.

Tyris has good Force Defense (which roughly translates to TK defense):

LEVITATION

Levitation is a Force power that allows Force Users to suspend themselves against the force of gravity.

Tyris uses Levitation in his battle against Nejaa Halcyon, going as far to describe his ability with this power as "great":

I caught the acrid stink as some of my hair melted beneath the lightsaber's lethal caress, but I ducked the blow by a safe margin. Rotating my wrists, I swept my blade back low, through where his legs should have been, but he leaped up and away from my strike. He flipped backward through the air, displaying great ability with levitation, and landed easily four meters away from me.

KNOWLEDGE

Nikkos Tyris has studied ancient Sith Documents that contained techniques described as "highly dangerous":

Tyris and at least two other Jedi Knights had discovered documents dating back thousands of years. Upon deciphering the cryptic Sith language, they began to absorb the knowledge within. This new information drastically altered their view of the Jedi, inspiring them to splinter off to form their own organization. Digging deeper into the mysterious documents, they learned new and forbidden techniques that the Jedi had deemed highly dangerous or maliciously evil.

Tyris has studied a Sith Holocron, given to him by Count Dooku:

During the Clone Wars, an Anzati Jedi named Nikkos Tyris left the Jedi Order, allegedly after studying a Sith Holocron he may have obtained from Count Dooku.

Source: Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force

In exchange for his allegiance, Dooku promised Tyris access to his Sith Holocron - the same one that had been accessed by the Anzati Jedi Volfe Karkko.

The Sith Holocron that is given to Tyris by Count Dooku is powerful:

Dooku had at his disposal a Sith holocron. This powerful and ancient dark side resource enhanced his own powers and helped to entice other Force users into the Separatist cause.

Source: The Official Star Wars Fact File 116

Tyris studied the teachings of Volfe Karkko:

This Anzati was one of the most powerful of the Saarai-kaar leaders of the Jensaarai, who discovered ancient Sith teachings during the Clone Wars. These teachings were the work of one of his predecessors, Volfe Karkko, and described how Karkko had been seduced by the dark side of the Force.
Source: The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia Vol. III
Curious, Tyris made a great effort to obtain Karkko's apocryphal teachings in which he found frequent reference to and snippets from Sith tomes.Source: Evil Never Dies: The Sith Dynasties

Tyris had to be stopped before he could use the Sith Lore he discovered:

One of Bail Organa's advisors, as well as a member of the Alliance, the golden-furred Jedi had battled alongside Nejaa Halcyon to prevent Nikkos Tyris from using the Sith Lore he had discovered.

ARMOR

The Jensaarai's Armor was crafted entirely out of cortosis, a lightsaber-resistant ore. This would, of course, include Nikkos Tyris:

There were three ranks of Jensaarai: Apprentices, Defenders, and Saarai-kaar. When they became Defenders, the Jensaarai craft a unique form of personal armor from cortosis ore designed to make them appear to be vicious creatures.

Source: The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia Vol. II

Tyris (and other members of the Jensaarai) attuned his Ceremonial Jensaarai Armor with the force:

These ceremonial suits of armor resemble creatures that represent personality traits and favored philosophies of their bearers, and Jensaarai attune themselves to their armor in order to fight at maximum efficiency.

Tyris' power was growing after he and the two Jensaarai leaders had studied the Sith Documents:

Their power grew quickly and their resentment of the Jedi began to consume them.

Source: I, Jensaarai

Tyris was so powerful that his (and the other Jensaarai leaders') deaths sent out ripples of Dark Side energy, destroying a three-meter high duracrete dome, held up by a dozen pillars:

Nightsweat rose into the air, then convulsed and seemed to implode. I saw the body fly back through the tents built beneath the duracrete dome. Nightsweat exploded, as did the dark Jedi Desertwind had slain. Their mortal bodies no longer able to contain the dark-side energy, it flashed out in a blue fireball that shattered the duracrete dome. I rushed to Spicewood, pulling him clear as the dome began to collapse. I felt Desertwind supporting the dome around me, then he let it go as we got clear.

Source: I, Jedi

The area that was destroyed is described in more detail here:

The three of us, spread out sufficiently to give ourselves room to fight, stood in a dusty bowl-shaped depression beneath a duracrete dome. A dozen three-meter-tall pillars scattered around its circumference held the dome aloft, allowing the light from the outside to illuminate the arena. Makeshift tents and storage sheds occupied a quarter of the arena in the direction we were facing.

FORCE BARRIER/FORCE CLOAK

Force barrier was both an offensive and defensive Force power, that created a barrier or wall of Force energy around the intended target, be it self, friend, or foe.

Force cloak, also known as Force camouflage, was a rarely seen Force talent involving the manipulation of light and sound waves to render a practitioner virtually invisible to the naked eye.

OTHER SKILLS

Tyris (and other Anzati) are masters in the art of Stealth:

The only art that most Anzati find worth mastering is the art of stealth.

Source: Ultimate Alien Anthology

Tyris is capable of using a form of Mind Control that's exclusive to the Anzati:

Jedi who have encountered the species have suggested that Anzati mind control is a type of Force Manipulation; they can sense the force and use it to bewitch their victims in a way akin to the famous Jedi mind trick.

Source: The New Essential Guide to Alien Species

Tyris (and other Anzati) has a very enhanced sense of smell:

Anzati track their prey by scent much of the time. They can smell their victim's 'essence' over considerable distances.

Source: The Official Star Wars Fact File 135

According to Jedi Master Zao, and Volfe Karkko, Anzati can grow in power by draining "soup":

"Not so. The soup Anzati eat is your future. How can it be anything but the force? Karkko eat Jedi soup, Karkko stronger in force." -- Jedi Master Zao
