@buildhare: wouldn’t believe it if it didn’t come from variety. Hell, they were the ones to reveal that Cap 3 was civil war before the announcement event even happened from what I recall

But he does have a point.
I'll be thrilled if this happens, I really will. But until Marvel or Disney make a formal comment, I'll retain a healthy amount of skepticism.
@mrmonster: go head and be skeptical nothing wrong with that. I’m just saying that variety actually is a reliable and credible site, even on said article that I mentioned about Cap 3, they mentioned them not having anything to comment
Doubt Hiddleston would do TV that's far to beneath the guy... plus without Thor theres nothing that would make sense Loki wasnt gone THAT long and they wouldn't have the black order or thanos as that's way to much money
If they do a prequel to Loki, I imagine that these would be the characters.
-Loki: Protagonist and "Hero"
-Enchantress: Female Sidekick of Loki
-Sigurd: Male sidekick of Loki
-Skurge: Sidekick of Enchantress
-Lorelei: Sister of Enchantress, who will eventually be evil.
-Alternative future Loki: The Big Bad.

Not really. He did the Night Manager a couple of years ago and is looking to do a 2nd season.
@camilopezo: it would be like Jim Carrey in the mask?
So, no Scarlet Witch movie? Come on!
At least put her in the next Strange movie.
Allegedly. Marvel Studios (Fiege) would have a direct hand in making the shows and they'd be undeniably canon. Unlike Marvel's other shows. This seems like the alternative for secondary characters who are fan favorites but don't particularly warrant flims for other reasons. It also doesn't mean that she can't still appear in future movies which is where I think they'll be going with this.

This is what I'm interested in seeing. How much they let what happens in the show carry over to future movies. Not everyone would watch the shows. It might confuse average movie goers.
This is so weird.
@rbt: She's likely to keep getting reduced to a supporting role a la Black Widow if she keeps appearing in movies anyway. I didn't ever see her getting a solo movie. Those who do care enough about Wanda will watch the shows, those who don't will still watch the movie and wouldn't be lost on what she's been doing. The MCU has been doing that pretty well recently. They make most of their characters have their own confined arcs for individual movies so that the average movie goer won't be too lost if they haven't seen their previous appearances.
I think a Scarlet Witch + Loki team-up would make more sense, either headlining their own show feels weird.
Makes me wonder what will happen to the rest of the shows.
Does this mean Loki's alive? Way to spill the beans Variety! (I kid, I kid. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone came back from the dead)

Might use magic a bit more often so I'm not complaining.
A Loki prequel could be cool if they say he's actually still alive it would make no sense for him not to be at Thor's side after A4 as they have both reconciled and would probably rule Asgard together.
Also if they're going to do it they'd have to actually have him using magic and not just daggers
Yeah...Marvel will be unstoppable. Been checking other websites for validity of this news. It's legit.
It's nothing but disbelief and raving over this on the comment sections on all websites.
Marvel has truly went above and beyond for its fans. The ratings for these shows will be insane. I'm reading the budget will be HUGE. With the intent to rival the best shows
I don't want any of the movie stars to do TV shows with their characters... it would ruin the theatrical experience each time they appear on ghe big screen. And how are they even going to pull off a series with Scarlet Witch or Loki? They don't have the budget, or the storylines to pull that off.
I'm totally against this if it's happening, which it probably isn't anyway.
MCU is on a hot streak right now i wonder what other characters we will see get their own shows
to all the people saying this is not good news you obviously have no idea how to sell a new streaming service or how much people are hyped for this SPOILER ALERT an overwhelming majority
"They don't have the budget, or the storylines to pull that off."
Lol!! this makes absolutely no sense.
Only characters I could see this working for would be Hawkeye, Black Widow, and other heroes whose power set would not require heavy VFX.
How would they ever do one based on Loki, which would most likely be set in space. Space VFX aren’t free.
How would Scarlet Witch show any of her powers without it looking cheesy?
I’d rather just keep Loki dead/don’t explore his character further and put Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange 2.
@anthp2000: article mentions that budget surrounding the shows such as these would rival that of a major studios production, and doesn’t sound that unbelievable. Keep in mind that Jon Favreau’s Star Wars’ live action show is reportedly around 100 million in total budget
Storylines (theoretically) at least concerning the two characters mentioned could be the time period between The Dark World and Ragnarok for Loki (as he pretends to be Odin). That was a solid 4 years in universe, could even include some agents of shield references. Or even after Thor 1 when Loki feel into that wormhole and how he eventually found himself working for Thanos. For Wanda, a series could possibly explore her relationship with vision and develop said relationship more, along with possibly her backstory (since, let’s be honest, the movies haven’t had time to really do so)
@anthp2000: They are going to devote super high budgets comparable to the movies and Fiege will have a direct hand in making them. If that's the case then I'm all for a Scarlet Witch mini series.
@pict: Disney Marvel>At&t and DC....at least disney is an independent entertainment company...there aren't too many of those left in this world of buyouts...
I just don't know of it's feasible to devote budgets comparable to the movies, and that's the only way they'll do characters like Loki, and freaking Scarlet Witch, justice.
But even if I buy this, I also don't know if these characters can have more than a supporting role as the MCU is atm if I'm being honest. Don't get me wrong, I like both of them a lot, and the actors do a fine job, but are there many stories that'd allow them to carry a 10-hour long spinoff MCU style? If they do, I'd like a very serious and dark note, because they can have interesting stories themselves like that, but I'm afraid Disney will do sht for that and have the tone be like Civil War's circus parade - which is not necessarily bad, but does not go well with these particular characters.
