Morrison's New World Order

Snyder's
Snyder's "The Totality"

It's a self explanatory title.

"New World Order" or "The Totality": Which is the better Justice League run opening arc?

For me, I honestly prefer Morrison's "New World Order". Sure, the threat is generally smaller than Snyder's whole forces of Entrophy threat but New World Order quickly established the threat in his first issue, while Snyder still wants to play the slow burn past four issues. Gave each member of the League to shine in 4 issues (I get that Snyder has a way bigger cast at the start of his series but no one's really left much of an impression on me outside of Martian Manhunter so far) and it's an easier arc to pick up for a new casual reader than Snyder's, who is playing his long lengthy arcs trip too much for casual readers from No Justice to the current "Legion Of Doom" arc.

I'm pretty sure you aren't beating Morrison right off the bat with the JL fans.

I still don't see how White Matrians arc isn't your typical superhero story.

Generally I think Morrison’s JLA is a little overrated but New World Order is terrific, possibly my favourite JL story ever.

I generally prefer Snyder's storytelling over Morrison's, but New World Order wins this. Largely because Batman is so awesome in it.

@adamtrmm: Well, to be fair, this was the first time the White Martians appeared and I think people liked the story more for it's execution than whether it was a typical superhero story or not.

New World Order. It's everything a starting story should be for a new team.

I am enjoying The Totality, but it's just trying too hard to up the ante. Like, we've been introduced to an entirely new Lantern Corp that dwarfs all the other ones put together, we've gotten a new rival to the Speed Force, wandering semi-sentient galaxies and we are not done yet. I mean JL in the past often descended to the ridiculous level in terms of scope, but Snyder's run has started there and with 50 issues in his head (so he claims) where the devil will it end up.

@life_without_progress:

Eh White Martians to me are only as unique as are Nimrod or Neo or any other side alteration of an existing concept debuting. Again, read the story, wasn't blown away at all. And I didn't even have expectations because I'm not Morrison's biggest fan.
