My problem with DCEU

There are many problems within the DCEU. My main problem though is how they portray the characters.

Batman - My biggest problem with him is that many great Batman stories comes from the conflict of his morality. Not using gun and not killing has been a big part of his character since forever. Taking it away not only disrespect his character but also ruined the future potential of the DCEU. I get that this is an "older Batman" who is angry. But why make him kill in his FIRST movie? (This will make many people who doesn't read comic assume that Batman is just some gun wielding rich guy) WHY is the Joker still alive if killing normal thugs is normal to him? If the whole point of him killing is to show how angry he is, then this is stupid. Because we don't even know about THIS Batman yet, and what makes us not assume he kills before this? Remember the impact of when Batman finally uses a gun to attempt to kill someone (Darkseid)? That is also he "last" day.

Another problem with Batman is how they dumb him down and make him attempt at jokes... Throughout the Justice League movie, it makes me ask the question "Why is Batman even here...?" There are people who dislike Batman, saying that he is the most useless member of the Justice League blah blah blah. That he is only there because he is famous. I feel like this movie is exactly how those people perceive Batman as - Some jerk who gets angry and picks fight randomly. It's not like there isn't a role for Batman, his uselessness can easily be fixed if they give his actual role (The brain of the Justice League). The only thing the movie get right about is the speech that Batman gave. Superman being more human than him. Batman isn't relatable, and that isn't what makes him awesome. He is the symbol of Justice and the idea of how a mere human can stand up among the gods.

I wanna talk about Superman and the others but I'm tired. And English is obvious not my thing as you can see here... so.. bye.

In a nutshell characterization & story.

Also..they reinforce some of the worst stereotypes about the world's finest. Superman is boring as hell & dumb in BvS. Then he just dies like we're supposed to care. Then in JL he's Dues Ex Machnima Superman. Trivializing the "big bad" guy as well as defeating the point in having a Justice League. My favorite character,but jeez...that's now how you sell him to people. I hate when Batman is written like an asshat...He was an asshat in BvS. A dumb one at that. Batman isn't dumb. Then as you stated they ruined a key point to his character my having him kill people. I'm fine with heroes killing,but Batman is REALLY written around the fact he doesn't. One moment BvS seems like the Batman show, then JL comes and it's Superman & Friends. I don't understand why DC is struggling to hard to grasp the concept the entire cast is important(Or at least the trinity is ). They had an entire cartoon series that captured that.

I wish they had took their time and got the right writers & director. It could have been glorious. I could type out a lot more... but that's all for now.

I agreed with some of what you said but I can't really take your post to seriously when you're username is DCEUhater. Like you define yourself by hating the DCEU. It's one thing to dislike what the DCEU has done but you should at least want it to get better.

Lol, flash and arrow are garbage, what is this guy talking about? All of DC tv shows are average to below-average. Arrow used to be the best but they have COMPLETELY ruined it.

Zack Snynder made the WAtchmen and thought that was the tone all of Comic books movies are like.

Another mistake DCEU made is not connecting the Nolan Trilogy, the Green Lantern MOvie and what not. Instead they choose to make Man of Steel the first one. If they went with Batman Nolan, they could have pointed to the billions made fron Dark Knight and Rises, the Flop to Green Lantern.

As much as I enjoy most of the MCU films, I also generally enjoy the DCEU films for their attempt at trying to be more mature than the lighthearted MCU comedies.

I would love to see more in depth characterizations across the whole board of super-hero films and less emphasis on the parody aspects which MCU is over indulging in.

In summary I think MCU are lucky to have Joe & Anthony Russo at the helm producing well-balanced films. The DCEU could really benefit with different (A) list Directors having a crack at the franchise. Patty Jenkins was a brilliant choice for Wonder Woman. Can you imagine Ridley Scott, or Doug Liman directing a DC film?
