What made Marvel fans angry this time?

considering this is very obviously the definition of review bombing (either a 10 or 1 with not many in between) may be just due to blatant racism, sexism, personal preference or all of the above.

it’s the best reviewed piece of media ever to come out of the mcu so far so the 1/10 having so many votes is obviously biased.

Kinda seems like the pendulum swings both ways (certainly more towards one side as I doubt this really is a 10/10 series).

Seems to have waaay more 10's than 1's.

Its really pathetic. People are really going to this extent over a show they were never going to watch to begin with/ not even targeted toward them.

It really isn’t review bombing. Can the same be said for Eternals? Obi Wan? Last Jedi? I mean the actors doesn’t deserve any hate at all but the diversity and character should not be used as a magical shield. What’s funny is that it’s “review bombing” when it’s negative but when fake bot accounts spam 10 stars it’s not.

True, but the critics can be just as bad if not worse. There are critics who definitely prefer certain companies over others.

Any show/movie with hype around it has a lot of 10 ratings. It's just normal.

The high amount of 1 ratings is not normal.

So not counting the votes of 10 and 1. The most common votes are between 7 to 9, I'm guessing the show is good enough.

Still not enough to counter out all the tens, so its overall rating is still higher than it should be. Just sayin'.

Critics are not Gods that know what's best and what's not. They can easily be as idiotic and mindless as consumers, as long as you give them something "thought provoking" in a product.

For every genuine review. You get 3 or 5 made praising the product, just because diversity was included. The movie Cuties is the best example of this:

So a show getting so many 10s is definitely iffy. Especially when you consider Marvel's recent track record with shows.

So calling someone a racist/sexist/muslimphobe because they don't like/agree that a product is good. Is petty and just plain dumb childish behavior. Maybe some internet trolls just wanted to troll. But it would be dishonest to say everyone that gave it a 1 is just a drone who's foaming at the mouth when they see a woman/Muslim/whatever. Especially when it's a Marvel related show. Which haven't been the best as of late. And definitely not 10/10 worthy.

Look at Black Mirror's episode Crocodile. It included a Muslim woman. And it was praised and loved for it's great characterization and writing.

Maybe. But I was also addressing the "wait for Critics/ur a sexist, racist" comments. And how weird it is for a show to get so many 10/10 reviews. But people only complain about the low score.

I was just tagging you two, and others. Since this was a discussion. To see the point i made. So whether you were chill or not about the whole thing. I was just trying to point at the fact that show couldn't realistically have all these high scores, and the childish logic of some people.

Its a bit more complicated than that...most stories feature Women or some ethnic minority in the U.S the lgbt stuff is mostly new. Its more the way that they are presented in many stories these days that is "woke". Often times imo these stories are not very good/cringe or eye rolling. They focus more on the identity of the characters then the character of the characters themselves if that makes sense. I don't believe MS. Marvel is one of those stories tho.

@coadamol: ironically you said slightly but it’s basically 1/2 10 star reviews and 1/2 1 star reviews which means they couldn’t possibly disagree more. it’s not a slight disagreement. everyone can have their opinion sure, but the implication that a safe perfectly regular episode of television is a 1/10 is honestly insane and quite impossible. nobody on here actually thinks most forms of media are a 1/10. i’ve personally never seen anything that bad, and the worst things i’ve ever seen are usually so bad that they become enjoyable (like batman and robin).

First episode was pretty decent
