Paris Hilton isn't even on the pole. She's in the dirt, seven feet below the pole, right underneath the coffin of Steven Segal.

Tom Cruise starred in Mission Impossible.......he's at least B List.

I haven't seen that, and even if I did.......his ridiculous personal life doesn't factor into his movie performances.

Pffft, Oprah? Regis and Kelly, FTW, thanks.

Didn't realize it because I just started it (snap? no, that's not right).

I thought we were talking about his acting skills.

As for his career......even after the couch incident, he still starred in Mission Impossible 3 and War Of The Worlds. He's not as far down as you think.

MI3 and WoW were both pre Couch jumping.
Anything he's done after appearing on O has either tanked or failed to come out

I'm pretty sure that they both came out afterwards......hence the large debate whether or not they were gonna bomb.

Confirmation will be searched for.

In 2006, he reprised his role as Ethan Hunt in the third installment of the Mission Impossible film series, Mission: Impossible III. Although it was more positively received by critics than its predecessor, it disappointed at the box office, grossing nearly $150M less worldwide.

Cruise has made several expressions of his feelings for Holmes to the media, most notably the "couch incident" which took place on the popular Oprah Winfrey Show of May 232005

MI3 tanked? 70% approval at Rottentomatoes and $134 million is "tanked"? Top 10 at the box office for six weeks?

War Of The Worlds earned Razzies....didn't tank. Took in quite a lot of income.

It made $47.7 million in its opening weekend, a solid opening yet well below industry expectations and almost $10 million lower than the franchise's previous installment.

That's not tanked. Tanked is when it made far less that what it took to create.

Consider how that was the opening weekend, and the second movie was (you guessed it) before Cruise's appearance on Oprah....it didn't even come close to tanking. Number two made a large amount anyways.....so making ten million than it doesn't mean much.

Didn't tank.

Tom Cruise=at least four pegs above Paris Hilton and the rest of her kind.

Number 2 did well, number 3 didn't  do as well..i wonder what happened in between that time frame that could have hampered the success of the movie

Your whole original point was that his appearance on the show made it so that everything he appeared in did terrible. MI3 didn't do terrible. It at least did modestly. Your raising a whole other issue now.

I was relating it back to his appearance on the O show as the reason why MI3 didn't enjoy the success of it's predecessors.

Which is a different point than what we were arguing......

For the record, yeah, MI3 didn't do as well as it's predecessors, I agree with that.

my original statement was him being on the O show was why his career has fallen downhill.
Mi3 was post O show

He was originally attached to Iron Man before they could come up with a script. They even drew Tony Stark to look like him

before that he was attached to an original Liefeld project called the Mark, last I heard of that was Will Smith owns the rights to it. He'll probably do one at some point, people calling his career shot are probably a little premature. Hate on the scientology & bad PR all you want but there's very very few people in Hollywood that achieve the consistent success he's had, he'll be around another 20 years making big movies just like Eastwood & Ford. Especially if he's continuing to get directors like Raimi & Singer lining up to work with him.

Holy crap. He almost stole the whole movie. (Of course RDJ was the best though...) Every scene with Cruise was hilarious. Too bad we may never see that from him again...

A Sleeper movie? That's awesome. If it's the same story as the comic it should be great. Liked seeing it mentioned as a possible franchise.

And yes, fat Cruise in Tropic Thunder was funny. Great dancer.
