BvS deserved its criticism, partially. Spoilery marketing, movie that feels like a multiple cuts of random scenes, bizarre interpretation of Lex Luthor, and more. I came out of the theater quite disappointed, but still felt like there was a great CBM underneath this productional fiasco.
So the question is, am I the only one who was converted by the ultimate cut eventually?
Also, Hulk, yeah.
BvS wasn't complete shit it was OK.
Watchmen has the perfect rating on IMDb but everywhere else on the internet it feels underrated.
Thor TDW was also pretty OK with some great scenes but it's hated. Same with Iron Man 2.
And GOTG 2 is also something I love which isn't loved by others.
@mrmonster: Yeah I agree with TAS too. I detested it when I first watched it but liked it much much more after watching it again.
Watchmen and Man of Steel.
Very underrated to say the least but Watchmen is slowly gaining recognition among the masses. It's slowly amassing its followers and admirers, like some sort of a cult classic.
This happens to most movies that are ahead of their time at the point of their release. They take time to gain recognition. Watchmen's brilliance is slowly being recognized. It's non linear portrayal of events, it's super stylised visuals, performances of the actors, specially Jackie Earle Hayley, it's resemblance to the modern world with it's various allegories. Most superhero movies look mediocre compared to Watchmen now.
I think over the few years Man of Steel will gain that position too. People will see beyond what they see now, the polarizing portrayal of Superman. They will see the brilliance.
I'd have included BvS among the underrated movies too because some parts of the movie are absolutely brilliant. But the movie overall, specially the theatrical cut isn't well put together at all. It doesn't feel like a movie, it rather feels like a collection of scenes and montages. Maybe BvS Ultimate cut will gain a cult status later on.
Point to remember here is that, people remember only controversial or absolutely brilliant work. The ones which are just okayish and tick all the bells without hitting anything hard enough to generate conversation or controversy, are always forgotten over a period of time.
Watchmen. It's a great but very underappreciated movie.
Some others include...
I was suprised GoTG2 gets hate, imo it was a great adventure/comedy movie.
Both TASMs movies, especially the second one, it was cool and had best Spider-Man portrayal in live action.
BvS is slightly overhated aswell mainly because of Martha scene, it was a bad scene but the dvd/blu ray edition was actually a good movie overall.
@skywalker95: All the ones named here are far far far from underrated. The really underrated ones have almost been forgotten:
Man of steel
Amazing Spider-Man- Garfield killed it he's literally ultimate spiderman
The incredible hulk
Watchmen. It's a great but very underappreciated movie.
Some others include...
Watchmen. That movie is one of the proofs that if given a great source material, Zack Snyder can make a great movie. Which is ironic, considering that Alan Moore said that Watchmen wasn't suitable to be adapted into film.
Watchmen , X-Men Days of Future Past , X-Men First Class , Captain America The First Avenger , Iron Man 2 , Man of Steel , Kick Ass and Kick Ass 2
The Punisher (1989 version). A totally underrated, hard-hitting action movie. I liked Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle.
Watchmen - I just can't believe the ratings it got, like what are people thinking.
Mos - yeah that was different superman but not that bad of a superman.

I completly agree with you. The Hulk 2003 is way better than any of the MCU movies by far.
I also don't see why people so hate Daredevil. I found it good. I agree that Bullseye could have been better.

Oh, ok that explains the last point :P
Suprised to see so many Watchmen, I was always under the impression it was very acclaimed
it's one of those polarized Films.

What's your point ? Hulk is better, Daredevil is far from bad.
2003 Hulk, Daredevil, Punisher, XMen DOFP, Man of Steel, Thor TDW, Captain America 1, The Amazing Spider-Man 1... maybe (2 was trash besides the Spidey-Electro fight).
Actually might take off DOFP because Rotten Tomatoes is 90% lmao.
Ghost World, American Splendor, Dredd, Presopolis, Blade 2
Also, while "The Incredible Hulk" isn't the most riveting movie ever I think it does the best job of depicting the Hulk than anything that has come before. Ed Norton competently plays a distraught scientist that is scared to death of becoming a giant green monster, and he does a great job at carrying Liv Tyler through the love scenes. Too bad Norton left, Mark Ruffalo just seems like he's there reading lines half the time.
Man of Steel
Watchmen
Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition
Hulk
Also Thor, Incredible Hulk and Captain America: TFA are 3 films I enjoyed alot more than the general population seems to have especially Cap: TFA
@theincrediblesuperhulk8642: TFA was meh for me, but Thor 1 is my second fave from phase 1, after Avengers.

Dang that's extremely similar ahahaha, The Cap trilogy is probably my favourite of all time so you'd understand why TFA ranks so highly for me. TFA also has a sort of camp and charm that reminds me of the Donner Superman movies which hold a special place for me as well.
Dredd 2012 is so incredibly, and undeservedly, underrated it's painful to think about. It single-handedly stomps every DCEU and MCU movie.
Amazing Spider-Man..

It's literally not a Superhero movie. It's literally a political commentary on fascism..
