Personally, I'm not that surprised. The trailers complexly turned me off from this movie, best case scenario I thought this might have been okay.

People seems to enjoy it

Just saw that audience score is 74 %

Then they remove it and saying it will reveal on 14th June

Yeah Can't trust rotten tomatoes

Only way we can judge a movie is by seeing them

Expected it to at least be mediocre not outright bad due to the cast. Only had a passing interest due to Tessa and Hemsworth but was never going to see it in theaters anyway. Oh well.

EW wrote worse than MIB 3, better than MIB 2. I didn’t like MIB 2 at all and found MIB 3 to be marginally enjoyable except for the end which pissed me off. I had no plans to see this in the theater, but I feel bad for Chris Hemsworth who continues to struggle in movies away from the MCU.

I saw the movie today and it was pretty fun. I think rt is stupid again.

For all the talk about critics haunting recent releases, fans don't appear to particularly like them, either. KOTM: IMDB rating - 6.7/10. Dark Phoenix - 6/10, MIB - 5.9/10 (even though it's still early for this one). For reference, the average film rating on IMDB is 6.6. So either these films are somewhat fun to watch but ultimately not very good, or the big, bad critics are creating alt accounts en masse to drop their scores.

There are reasons to hate on RT for the way they handle their audience score (especially after the Captain Marvel debacle), but bemoaning the cumulative approval rating is asinine - all the more for films that are average or below average. They didn't bury Citizen Kane part 2, just a bunch of dumb action movies with cool effects and no plot.

We've reached the point where people act outraged at RT scores and shake their fists at a passing cloud only to rate these films a 5-6/10 anyway.

Unless it's a (non MCU) CBM with a good RT rating (like Shazam). Then most people are cool with it.

Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson appeared in one of the biggest movies of all time and then appeared in a crappy movie shortly after. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

A lot of YouTube reviewers enjoyed it and seems like the audience did too.

However from the trailers itself it felt more like a reboot or the original instead of a spinoff in the same universe.

It didn't seem like the world building was the the original MiB where the aliens are everywhere but seem normal. It seemed like a Marvel movie.

The score was also different and the humor was also different. I hope it does feel like a spin off and not a reboot. Just saying it's in the same universe won't mean a lot if it doesn't feel like the same universe.

Anyway, From what I heard it is a decent mediocre movie so audience may like it like they did venom. Plus the movie budget is just 100 million so its not gonna flop.

Will have to wait Cinemascore and Maoyan score to know if it's actually bad.

Probably cause it's a bad movie.

MIB opened to 7.4/10 on Maoyan score in China. Dark Pheonix got 7.5. So critics are sadly right

Trending reviews from China

The plot is too flat that you think you are watching a kid's cartoon"

"Lazy money grab trying to sell retirement life of Asguardians"

"The only interesting point is the cameo of Huang Bo"

"Worst Sci-Fii ever"

"It's like a fast-paced, wild but confusing dreamtalk of the director"

A movie rated a 6/10 by every critical review posted would get 100% on RT. People should read specific, trusted critics, or perhaps wait to see it themselves. Doubt the score will effect its box office, though.

I'm still going to be watching it, but I'm disappointed to hear. I love Tessa and Chris.

Sorry for being such a pain, but if you've seen it could you do me a favor an describe a particular scene in the movie? The part I am referring to is them testing the 'most powerful weapon in the galaxy' out in the desert and creating a large crater with it. People on the vine were bound to ask for feats!
