the chitauri barrage was focused on hulk. How would they detry ground if they are not even aiming at it

Yeah but they do. In (1:34), most of it landed and blasted into the ground. It's obvious and very visible. Thor blocked those blast and it didn't make smoke and Cap got hit by it and it didn't make smoke. It's very usual that they miss like that, Hawkeye and Black Widow were in the open area and surrounded by them but they can't land a single blast on them, same with the rest. There's even not a single civilian in the whole movie that got hit by those blasts.
