Thor, god of Thunder

I have found that Thor's speed is often underrated for one main reason: the perception that Thor is a slow character. The problem is not that Thor lacks feats since you can find those in almost any debate involving Thor, rather it is that Thor is perceived as slow.

To change that perception I need to show that Thor has always been a fast character which is exactly what I'm going to do now.

I'll go movie by movie and show some of the speed feats that Thor possesses, demonstrating that Thor has Always been a fast character.

Thor:

Thor was able to spin Mjolnir at impressive speeds while spinning to fight Frost Giants

Thor blitzes this Frost beast at likely Mach speeds

Casually reacting to the Destroyer armor's beams is another speed feat for Thor in his first movie

Avengers:

Thor casually dodges the Hulk's attacks and counter attacks

The Hulk is capable of making Abomination a statue, and Abomination can react to RPGs with ease

Thor reacts to multiple bullet speed chitari blasts

Thor: The Dark World:

Thor casually reacts to Malekith's Supersonic attacks

Thor was even able to completely dodge one of these Supersonic attacks

Thor blitzes Malekith with impressive speed

Avengers: Age of Ultron:

In Age of Ultron, Thor shows the speed to move while both Cap and Stark are frozen

Thor was even able to react to QS, then throw Mjolnir at QS before he could reach Thor. Considering QS is around Mach 5, Thor being able to move before QS got to him shows very impressive speed

Thor: Ragnarok:

Thor flies so fast that a Mach cone is created around Mjolnir

Thor consistently outpaces the Hulk, casually

Keep in mind, the Hulk can statue Abomination who can casually catch RPGs

Thor blitzes Hela

Thor casually reacts to Hela's blades

Avengers: Infinity War:

Thor is able to throw Stormbreaker at Thanos before the IG beam travels half the distance to Thor

Avengers: End Game:

Let's compare these two fights. Prime Carol hits Thanos from behind, and Thanos only using one arm throws her away in seconds. Thanos fights a Fat out of shape Thor who attacks Thanos from the front, yet the Speed seems about the same

Because of this, I think it's fair to scale Thor to some of Carol's speed feats

And Carol's speed feats are very impressive

Conclusion:

Are you starting to see a trend? Thor's speed has always been there, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Thor doesn't always use this speed in combat, but he certainly has it when he needs it for fighting powerful opponents.

People on CV surely enjoy discussing Thor's speed. Have it be 616 or MCU lol.

A lot of these points may or may not be seen in our cav :o. The reason his speed is debated so much is because DC characters are often seen as far faster, even though it’s not always the case

Thor and speed does not belong in the same sentence. For a high tier his speed isn't impressive. He has everything except speed set.

Yeah A4 draws inspiration from LOTR: Return of the King and Thor plays the role of Aragorn where his subplot centers on him assembling an army to challenge Thanos

I actually do have some feats:

Punches one of Hela's Necroswords away.

When he leaps at her, he blocks and destroys two of Hela's Necroswords out of the air.

These are decent speed feats because her projectiles are extremely fast:

Being capable of destroying something far in the distance in about a second.

He's not as fast as WODC Diana in movement speed but is fast enough to react and not get blitzed by her.

He's faster than I gave credit for, definitely bookmarking this.

The problem with this is your equivalency of combat speed and reaction speed. It does not matter if iron man can react to mach 4-5 projectiles, it would only be impressive if he had that combat speed.

@kalkent: I didn’t claim they were the same, but didnt stark move out of the way of the tank shell? That does indeed require superhuman speed

If you notice, Ironman had his thrusts effective , and trying to reach Ultron. Throughout that ship fight b/w him and Ultron, he was moving almost FTE or at the very least mid subsonic ranges. So , Thor has at least high- subsonic to very low supersonic combat speed.

I came here to troll but leave very impressed. First Thor speed thread to actually change my mind. Thor's speed is very understated, but it is there.
