MCU Thanos or DCAU Darkseid: The Better Villain
Funny enough Brolins Thanos reminds me a little of a little of Michael Ironsides take on Darkseid.
That wise but tense voice speaking in big rousing speeches but with a sinister undertone.
Love them both through the years.
Fail to see how a kiddie children's cartoon character could ever stack up to Thanos.
Nice bait.
Equal...especially with quotes like "I am many things Kal-El but here I am God." and "Perfectly balanced as all things should be."
Anyone who actually saw the the animated series undoubtly would say Darkseid. He borderline stomps thanos in as a character.
This video is quick representation of why.
Also the 8:18 is still as badass as ever
I don't remember much from darkseid other than being ruthless. Don't get me wrong he was cool but he was also evil for the sake of evil. Thanos was just as intimidating and cool but he also benefits from having some interesting personality traits.
Darkseid was more evil for the sake of power. His end goal was pretty much the total subjugation of the entire universe.
Between the two Darkseid was also a more interesting evil dictator at the very least. Darkseid had an entire planet of people so downtrodden and browbeaten that they actually loved and respected him. Millions of men and women enslaved to his will that knew nothing but his tyranny to the point that they didn't want to be free from him.
Meanwhile Thanos had a handful of actual thinking minions and an army of mindless killing machines. Darkseid had his mindless killing machines too, but we actually got to see the citizens of Apokolips and how much they adored him. That makes him far more sinister to me. The fact that even after Superman defeated him in combat his people refused to rebel, and instead hated Superman for what he did to their beloved dictator.

Fair enough.
DCAU Darkseid had some great character moments. The episode where Supes beats him down and tell Apokalips they are free, but they choose to carry him away as he taunts Kal by saying he may be a superman, but on Apokalips Darkseid is a god.
MCU Thanos also has the one problem of wasting tons of resources on military efforts while pretending that his crusade is all about resources. On one hand you can say most villains need to have some hypocrisy, but that one undercuts Thanos for me. The moment with Gamora on the mountain though was great.
I can still remember Darkseid dialogue 15 years later I can't remeber Thanos from a couple months ago
Both job to street tiers and building level bricks
When did Darkseid job to a street tier character?
@modernww2fare: Batman dodged his omega beams
@marvelx13: You surely must not have watched the DCAU to call it just a kiddie's cartoon.
Thanos in IW was astounding. His scenes with Gamora were absolutely amazing. Gotta go with him.

This.
Thanos was not intimidating at all, his plan was kinda stupid, he doesn't look menacing, and he let Captain MarySuemerica punk him...

More like Captain MarysueVel
Darkseid, his voice alone stomps Thanos.
this.
Lol man sometimes I wonder if these MCU fanboys have ever actually WATCHED anything they've bashed/ignorantly argue against?
No shame to liking what you like, but don't let it cloud your judgment.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hermione Granger, but I'd be an absolute idiot to say she beats doomsday because I like her more
Thanos was dissapoinment.
