I mean Thanos' energy durability is rather high. Doubt it would do any lasting or meaningful damage to Thanos. He could end up getting ragdolled though.

Considering he got up pretty quickly after a bolt from Cap with Thor's powers I don't really see hv doing much to him.

Lightning heat is kinda irrelevant because of how fast it travels through the body so it isn't nearly as much as a beam that hot.

Meanwhile these beams are gonna be there for a while and Doomsday's heat vision is already superior to Clark's.

I know it was years ago but you kind argued the opposite in the past. I'm curious as to why your opinion changed?

Normally yes since lightning only lasts for fraction of a second, not with Thor one, it was focused on Thanos for few seconds( his head) yet it still did not burn him at all, not to mention the full energy output of Neutron Star which is lightyears above HV by feats

@thespartanb345t: So you don't think that Thor's lightning being concentrated onto an opponent for the length of time that he does so would make it far more potent than if it were only effecting them for a fraction of a second?

I also would look directly at its feats potency wise, that are far more impressive than hv in terms of both force and heat IMO.

Thanos caught off guard by Thor's lightning got back up in seconds after being in it for about 2-3 seconds, heat vision isn't going to do much.

Depends how long the attack lasts.. If it is as long as it lasted in the movies then he tanks it casually and only pushed back. HV isn't seriously hurting Loki talk more of Thanos. MCU high-tiers have ridiculous energy durability feats..

@amcu: I agree that Thor's lightning has better feats, but DD's HV made Clark scream in pain, and Clark's weakened body survived the heat of a nuke.

Thanos isn't gonna die, but he isn't no-selling either based on that, imo. Probably bloodied.

Listening to it you can't really hear Clark screaming in pain at all when he's being hit by it. He was pushed back but gets up immediately after and looks like nothing happened. IIRC firing heat vision has seemingly caused pain for Kryptonians but it doesn't seem like it actually effects them to any significant extent when they're hit by it.

Also both Sokovia and the Neutron star at Nidavellir logically had greater heat than a nuke and yet Thor survived them and Thanos is significantly more durable than Thor. So his energy durability is likely beyond Clark's by a significant extent.

Thanos isn't gonna die, but he isn't no-selling either based on that, imo. Probably bloodied.

Well I don't think anyone said he would no sell it but its not doing much to him either.

@koltoaa: By what feats? Thor’s lightning has never melted anything of significance. It’s only charred Leviathan skin in Avengers.

OT: Thanos comes out crispy and defeated

It melted titanium-gold alloy which is much more durable than steel that HV melted. Also burned holes through Leviathan, Iron Man petawatt laser > HV

Good thing is that Thanos tanked prolonged exposure to it for multiple seconds, unlike humans surviving one that lasts only for a small fraction of fraction of second as you noted yourself

Nanosecond? Lol. Exaggeration much?

Considering how weak HV is compared to lightning it might as well be

@kryptonianking88: you have no feats to say that Asguardian steel does any better against heat than normal steel...

Every meal has a different melting point including “asguardian steel”
