@dianaallmighty: dude it can wipe out planets. It was the entire point of a whole movie. Ronan didn’t even know what it was until later on, without any experience he was gonna use it to destroy Xander. There is no logical reason Thanos can’t it as well as him. And it was the only time in the whole movie he directed it in a beam.

So tell me why Ronan was trying to land on Xandar but not just shot with beam from space to Xandar. It’s far more likely Iron man was tanking a colossal amount of power that not. It was pretty clear Thanos wanted him dead at that point. Ronan wanted to destroy Xander personally, up close in front of everyone and deliver his speech, he was an arrogant zealot. Clearly the beam Thanos used wasn’t planet clearing but it would certainly be enough to vaporize a mere peak human

At least you admit that this beam was not planet vaporising, because it would but terraabsurd that 5cm layer of titanium is durable enough to resist planet busting strike like infite mass punch in dc comics.
