MASSIVE Flash retcon in Flash #761

New retcon that explains Flash War, Heroes in Crisis, Hunter Zolomon. Literally just about every bad thing to have happened to the Flash family was all orchestrated by the Reverse Flash, Eobard Thawne:

This power led to Thawne literally causing everything from Hunter Zolomon becoming Zoom, to Wally and Barry fighting in Flash war to Wally snapping in Heroes in Crisis:

... Having Eobard around sure is handy when you want to retcon things away.

@quinlan58: the heroes in crisis one made me laugh. People hated it because wally was written so out of character. Now this is their “explanation” why lol

They know they messed up. Tom King can't write for sh*t. His Batman run is also horrible.

Great issue, I wanted to see more from the other members of the Legion of Zoom but this was a really cool reveal for Thawne.

So when are they going to make this one officially canon?

Absolutely, considering he can outright possess people and hypnotize people now I’d say it needs an update. he really is the flash’s greatest villain

but that extended flash family tho lol When Max meditated and summoned a squad of Flashes including Walter West, KC Wally, N52 Jay, and Krakkl With Jai and Irey leading the charge I got infinite mass punched right in the feels

@firestarlord73194: Yeah, the first one was just to go over his Pre/Post stuff. Next one when it's done will go over N52/Rebirth so should be pretty cool

@ultraphoenix: no he’s killed Eobard before (snapped his neck), I think their alluding to it happening again next issue

If it was any one else id consider this lazy and an excuse for bad writhing which it is....but Eobard is such a good character for that due to his personal disdain for Barry and the Flash Mantle. I actually like it

Stands for Retroactive Continuity. It means they change something that was previously shown or stated in comics.

With all these new and old powers, he's dangerous.
