"Marvel Only" No More...

Since I started back reading Comics, I have been 100% Marvel (save for a few Silver Surfer crossovers with Green Lantern and Superman).

By reading Reviews, listening to the Comic Vine Podcasts (especially with James Robinson), and talking with some Awesome Moderators, I decided to pick up the following New Series (mostly New 52):

1. The Shade
2. Green Lantern
3. Green Lantern Corps
4. Green Lantern: New Guardians
5. Green Lantern the Animated Series
6. Red Lanterns
7. The Ray
8. Animal Man
9. Swamp Thing
10. Deathstroke

This has increased my pull list significantly. :)

I am looking forward to reading and reviewing these issues as they are released!

I just got into DC myself with the New 52. I also Like Marvel, Dark Horse, Top Cow, and Image.

Silly me, I forgot to mention that I have recently picked up the trades for these non-Marvel/non-DC titles as well! (again due to my avid listening to the back podcasts):

1. Walking Dead (Image)
2. Cowboy Ninja Viking (Image)
3. The Boys (Dynamite)
4. Chew (Image)

I have not yet picked anything up from Vertigo or Dark Horse...

@thanosrules: I'd recommend Hack/Skash (Image) and Hellboy (Dark Horse).

I know that. I was just joking that all they put out any more really are 3 titles. Buffy, Star Wars and Hellboy/BRPD

how about judging comics based on the comics and not the publisher? we could start doing that

For me, reading only Marvel was simply based on the characters that I loved (and the books that were handed down to me by my father)... it was never about the publisher.

Publisher is now just a different category in my Excel Spreadsheet to organize the comics. :)

That said, the "Universes" that have been created by the separate publishers do have some differences that may make people trend one way or the other... but I doubt that many people make choices for books based on the universe the characters reside... except maybe for Top Cow...

thats true, i love the marvel universe and the strong connections between it. still though, comics should be judged by themselves, not by the people paying to put them out.

If you're looking to get into DC more then I highly recommend reading Batman. It's my favorite series out of the new 52 (haven't read all 52 titles). Batwoman, Nightwing, Batgirl, Demon Knights, Aquaman, Batman And Robin, Action Comics, Detective Comics, Birds Of Prey, Red Hood & The Outlaws are a bunch of other great series to consider.
