Planet Hulk is underrated, overshadowed by the juggernaut that was WWH. The latter would not have worked as effectively if not for the former.

I'd give the edge to KLH, though. Very layered and rich portrayals of both hero and villain in a way that contrasts and binds them. Kraven stayed dead for over 30 years, with good reason.

I prefer Planet Hulk, but KLH is probably the better of the two

Havent read KLH. Buuuut, having recently read Planet Hulk, the beginning arc is certainly something to behold. However, the story really starts to lose the momentun once you get into the whole debate about taking over. The whole story basically hinges on whether Hulk is strong enough or feeling ok to take over yet, and when he is, it seems that there's a whole lot of waiting around. A lot of bad things happen and people die from the Red King when Hulk can just rise up and crush the entire monarch on Sakaar, only that he doesn't because he's felt that everytime he's helped someone they always end up betraying him, by the end, it feels like it felt a bit tiresome. During the middle of the story, the story does a lot of moving and then stopping, then moving again then stopping. The end is fine I guess. The whole explosion seems kinda Deus Ex machina, but it was at least hinted at so its ok.

RIP Miek, he goes through the most character development.
