From what I understand and feel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, phase 1 was a "small investment", phase 2 was "more experimental", and phase 3 would most likely be at its peak (i.e.: its best).
Today we take a few steps back to return to MCU Phase 2 to discuss which you think is the darkest MCU film, in terms of theme, scenes, storyline, etc. This thread is NOT about which film you think is better. I reiterate, dark does not mean higher quality, and dark does not mean more mature - Logically speaking just because a quality film like The Dark Knight has dark, serious themes does not mean dark, serious themes equal quality.
