Lord of the Rings Prequel vs Game of Thrones Prequel

Rings of Power will be mediocre.

House of the Dragon they need to drop sumn quality to redeem themselves for the last season and the ending..

House of the Dragon looks like garbage but Game of Thrones already crashed and burned from season 6 onward so it's not like I had particularly high hopes for the sequel. Not to mention that they aren't really screwing with the lore all that much.

The Rings of Power though, not only s***ts all over the lore but it also looks really cheap. The CGI is goddamn awful, the cinematography looks Joss-Whedon-tier and I'm honestly having trouble believing that this garbage cost 250 million to produce. Definitely the bigger catastrophe out of the two.

I don't expect anything about these shows.

House of dragons

Neither. Hollywood is miserable at making mediaeval fantasies. They butchered witchered,later half of GOT, Wheels of Time, Narnia(not a fan of the book either) etc...Peter Jackson was a miracle that won't happen again

Rings of Power looks really good, HOTD does not.

Both look like they have a pretty high chance of screwing up, but I'll go with Rings of Power.

They both look like shit.

Rings of Power doesnt even follow sirmarillion, history of middle earth or Unfinished tales they making the second age only via vague info on the appendices which would be pretty catastrophic

House of the dragons recent teaser got me intrigued. I can't say the same for rings of power

Unlike Peter Jackson, the creators of new LotR series have zero respect for Tolkien's legacy. They'll butcher it just like they butchered The Witcher and Wheel of Time.

@el_mago: ROP's setting gives them creative freedom to do their own thing without messing with Tolkien's established events. I think that's a good thing

Overall, ROP but I do hope they polish the CGI and make it really good, doesn't have to be a master piece

@darkthunder: making his own thing isnt bad however not following at least key events that happen during that time is entirely a different case

House of dragons. I'm actually cautiously optimistic about it

Rings of Power for me always preferred middle earth and anything first and second age has me hyped.

That said I’ll be watching both and hope they’re both good shows start to finish.
