Looks like we're going to finally discover Reys backstory in Rise of Skywalker

In a recent interview JJ Abrams teases this, could this be linked to the mystery characters Matt Smith/Kerry Russel are playing? Drop opinions.

Not that Abrams is dismissing what Rian Johnson did before with his film, just that there could be an added layer to what Rey (and by extension, the audience), knows. "I will say that we knew going into this that this movie had to be a satisfying conclusion, and we’re well aware that Rey’s parentage is one of the things that’s sort of been out there," Abrams says in a video interview with ABC. "I don’t want to say that what happens in Episode VIII – you know, we’ve honoured that. But I will say there’s more to the story than you’ve seen." Interesting... I remember being in the theater for The Last Jedi, right after Kylo said that, I thought to myself "He has to be lying." I never thought that her parents being junk dealers would be the whole truth.

Something we should of gotten already. They're doing all the things people wanted to see in the last movie. This will be the first and last time movie wise we see the new team together

IX is going to soft-retcon The Last Jedi they just won't say it publicly.

Abrams is going to have a lot of crap to deal with. He has to undo all the damage Ryan Johnson did to his trilogy and still manage to give it a satisfying end.

Well they could make her less of a Mary Sue I guess.
