List of MCU films that Man of Steel(2013) is better than?
- Iron Man
- The Incredible Hulk
- Iron Man 2
- Thor
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Iron Man 3
- Thor: The Dark World
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Ant-Man
- Doctor Strange
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Black Panther
- Maybe Ant-Man and The Wasp, haven't seen it yet
A smaller list would be "MCU films better than Man of Steel"
Bait.
Also, it's a short list.
I really liked MoS and think it is underrated but the DCEU boys on here claim it to be this masterpiece on par with The Godfather or something.
Relax.

Guardians 1-2
The Incredible Hulk
Both Antman films
Captain America The First Avenger
Thor 1/1
Iron Man 2/3
Avengers 1/2
It’s probably slightly better than Homecoming and about on par with Black Panther for me. Narratively after seeing it twice it doesn’t hold up as a story for me, but rather moments I love interspersed with some good flashbacks of Clark growing up. The stuff with the codex I could give a damn about, and there are a lot of stupid moments on it that make no sense.
@georgewbush: You really think MoS is better than Avengers 1 & 2 (I know Avengers 2 could have been better, but Avengers 1?!) Also the GOTG movies? I don’t think I can agree.
@georgewbush: Stop using the f-bomb, you know it's banned.

I disagree on those.
Also @krleavenger thoughts?
Why the heck are people complaining about "bait" or "troll thread"? It's just a simple question.
THANK YOU
@mutant1230: This topic is 100% subjective and does not require one's objective view on things. In other words, everything someone says here is completely irrelevant and useless. On top of that, for some reason, people on Vine are apparently biased and unreasonable enough to insult or directly provoke people who have disagreements with them despite the fact that they are fine with different views. That level of immaturity doesn't really make me feel optimistic enough to post here.
I can summarize my thoughts on Man of Steel but I don't want to repeat myself really. And there are few MCU movies that I hate but I have zero interest in coming to conclusion about which ones I like more. Nothing personal, but this thread is pointless.
Can't answer this objectively because I enjoy Snyder's style of movie making and neither can you if you like Snyder's style because his movies are radically different compared to the ones Marvel Studios makes.
That being said, I do recognize Snyder's faults. He can't put together a coherent movie. Either the pacing is wrong or there is too much content/subplots crammed together or he relies too much on visuals. Still, I enjoy his work a lot and that makes me ineligible to answer this objectively.
If I try very hard then I probably can answer the opposite question to the one in the OP. I can answer which MCU movies I consider better than MoS and TWS and GoTG would definitely be my picks.
- The Incredible Hulk
- Iron Man 2
- Thor
- Iron Man 3
- Thor: The Dark World
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Ant-Man
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Ant-Man and the Wasp
All of them
@gracetrack: you have my respect...
Maybe just the incredible Hulk tbh. The wierd thing is, even when Man of Steel surpasses a small number of MCU movies in the objective technical aspects, the tone and mood of the movie was that bland and boring that I couldn't come to enjoy it. I honestly nearly fell asleep half way through. Even when an MCU movie is objectively bad, their main characters are still charismatic enough to let me enjoy the film.
It's the same issue in a previous thread comparing Venom and TASM-2. TASM-2 was objectively better than Venom, and yet I still found Venom more enjoyable due to the Brock-Venom relation ship they portrayed through the film.
Snyder, unfortunately, does not know how to make a character likeable, and I'd shudder to think how MoS would have been if Nolan wasnt helping with the script.
Looking through some of the 'Snyder cuts' that have been collected over the past year and a half, I'm not surprised that most of Snyder's visions turns into a convoluted mess of a story line with a shade of edgy angsty teen tossed into the mix.
To end it off, I'll list off which movies I'd rather not watch if offered MoS as an alternative:
IH
Ant man 2
Thor 2 (Maybe)
Ant-Man and the Wasp, Doctor Strange, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Avengers Age of Ultron, Spider-Man Far From Home
I don't hold it in high regard, I think it's in 30 percentile or so compare to mcu films.
It's still vastly superior to Thor: the shit world, though.
