Let's Fix It: God of War Ragnarok
Make the scale of destruction larger. That Thor vs. Jormangandr fight was not what it was hyped up to be. It was just Thor flying around while big snake bite.
Nothing to fix imo, at most maybe make the second Thor fight or Odin fight a bit more bombastic.
Wait actually….. give us the fur cape!!
improve the character writing, don't put such a large focus on unimportant stuff that amounts to nothing while skimping on the main plot. learn what set up and pay off means.
A bit more scale in the last fight. NG+ & the fur cape.

I'll be here for a while then.
For starters, I'd add more gods. Not necessarily as boss battles, but gods in general. Other than Odin, Thor, and Heimdall we really didn't get much Aesir representation. Sif and Thrud play such a small role they're barely even worth mentioning, and we get a couple of mentions of Forseti. Compare it to GoW III, where there were a lot more gods to interact with, both in combat (which make Ragnarok feels rather tame in comparison) and as characters.
To be a bit more specific, I would add Vidarr as a post-ending antagonist. For those who don't know, in Norse mythology Vidarr was a son of Odin and the god of vengeance, he killed Fenrir after our favorite doggo devoured Odin during Ragnarok. I imagine him as being GoW Odin's secret weapon, a son he conceived specifically to experiment on, infusing him with all kinds of magic (Seidr, Bifrost, et. cet.) and some weird dwarven technology in order to create a perfect warrior. Since mythological Vidarr was known to be a silent type, I would make GoW Vidarr (as a result of Odin's experiments) a mute, rage incarnate, kinda like TPM Darth Maul. I think he would make for a far cooler post-ending antagonist than Gna, who at this point is just another valkyrie.
There could be an entire section of quests made around hunting down this mysterious menace that rampages across the Nine Realms, we could even include Tyr (the real one) in it, giving him some actual role in the game.
1. Get rid of boring Atreus sections. Too long and unnecessary. in fact make the game more fast paced in general. Game is too slow for a game based on "Ragnarok" which is the shortest part of the game.
2. Make the fights better. Boring environment, boring dialogues. This isn't how it supposed to be. Thor second boss fight is boring, same as Odin final boss fight. Both could have been much better.
3. GoW is about unrealistic levels of Gore. This transition is odd. Game needs more blood. Not talking about physical blood. Talking about fighting for your life. Ragnarok seems like children playground compared to Battle for Olympus. Writing is soft. Game never make me feel like I'm in danger except few Thor parts. nobody feels like he/she is in danger neither. a Ragnarok section is full of children (literally, Angroboda and Thrudd wtf)
The game gave us elegant origin stories for both Jormungandr and Fenrir, but dropped the ball when it comes to Hel, the last "child" of Loki. Her absence feels really jarring. From what I understand SMS decided to replace Hel with Hræsvelgr as the ruler of Helheim and dropped the "child of Loki" part altogether. A shame since I do feel like a gigantic bird fits better with the "monstrous" nature of Loki's children than a half-rotten woman, even if it goes against the actual Norse mythology.
Btw. can you imagine how cool it would be for Hræsvelgr to actually fight by our side at Ragnarok?
I'm a big fan of attention to detail with regards to background fodder fights in massive battles so I would've loved to see all the armies under Kratos' command throw down with Asgard a little bit more but that's about all I could think of truly to critique.
Make Thor more powerful than kratos so he beats him the second time via skill and discipline like he was telling Atreus
The Atreus Jotunheim section was brutal. Most of the Atrues stuff was just blah and a drag.
Also, second Thor fight should have been a grander scale. Other than that the game was amazing.
just fix the Kratos vs Thor and Odin boss fights , I would've preffered them to be in different locations compared to each other , and I would rework the entire Ragnarok section itself.
