"I am Kol Skywalker, servant of the Living Force! None of you will pass!

Kol Skywalker is the father of Cade Skywalker and the direct descendant of legendary Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. Kol preferred to train and spend time at the Jedi Temple on Ossus instead of Corsucant because he didn't like the more formal Temple on the capital. He was a leading member of the Jedi Council and championed the Ossus Project, an idea that sought to use Yuuzhan Vong terraforming biotechnology to rebuild worlds that were devastated during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. The project was sabotaged by the One Sith, however, which lead to a big rift in the galaxy and negative sentiments towards the Jedi, which allowed the Empire and the One Sith the leverage they needed to take the Jedi down. Kol died defending the Jedi Temple on Ossus and creating the time needed for a group of younglings to escape to someday rebuild the Jedi Order.

This thread will be divided into the following categories:

  • Combat Ability
  • Force Powers
  • Speed
  • Tactical Mind

Combat Ability

Kol Skywalker knows the Jar'Kai form of lightsaber combat (dubbed "Dual Weapon Mastery), suggesting he either knows and is skilled in Form IV Ataru or Form VI Niman. He's also proficient in simple weapons along with lightsabers:

This could either be referring to training in the ways of the Force or training his lightsaber skills, but Kol preferred to stay at the Temple on Ossus and train rather than the Temple on Coruscant where things were more formal and political:

Probably a little reaching on my part, but Kol trained Shado Vao and Vao is crediting as "yet to find his equal with a lightsaber". Kol was killed while Shado admittedly was still pretty young and had seven years by himself to finish his own training, but it's not impossible to think that Kol's training is a big part of the reason that Shado is so skilled with a blade:

Kol is referred to as an "honorable and respected" warrior and the Jedi Order's "greatest warrior" by Master Shaper Nei Rin:

"Your father was an honorable and respected warrior, young Skywalker. Being able to turn the Jeedai legacy over to his son is more than I ever hoped."

[...]

"The Yuuzhan Vong tradition of honor differs from yours, Master Jeedai. For us Cade Skywalker is a symbol of the Jeedai honor. Kol Skywalker was your greatest warrior -- his son should be the one to care for the Jeedai legacy."

(Star Wars: Legacy Issue #43, 2006) Kol and Wolf Sazen are able to hold off Vong-infected sentients and planet life, when other Yuuzhan Vong warriors could not, in time to get back to their shuttle and get off-planet:

(Star Wars: Legacy Issue #01, 2006) Kol and Wolf Sazen are the last two Jedi left on the Ossus Temple (based on the word of Darth Nihl who was leading the attack) but were able to hold off scores of stormtroopers and defend younglings as they attempted to escape:

(Star Wars: Legacy Issue #01, 2006) Kol would then go on to fight what is described as a "torrent" of Sith in a final stand in order to buy time for Cade and Shado to escape the Temple and save the younglings in order to rebuild the Jedi on the future. Kol starts off by saving Wolf Sazen after the latter had his arm cut off by Darth Nihl, takes Nihl out of the fight for a few pages, and wields both his own and Wolf Sazen's lightsaber to fight the Sith, ending up on a literal mound of bodies of both stormtroopers and Sith alike before being killed by a blast of Sith Lightning in his back:

Darth Nihl: "One-arm is right. You have no chance against me, boy. Lie down and die. Like your father. I'll give you the mercy of a quick death."

Cade Skywalker: "He never lay down! You killed him and it took half a dozen Sith to do it!"

Star Wars Legacy Issue #07, 2006

The Jedi, however, refused to give in, and retreated to Ossus. Darth Nihl and his Sith forces attacked, and Kol defended the last evacuation craft so that his son and Jedi Master Wolf Sazen could escape.

Kol is killed in the Ossus massacre. He falls while fighting off a torrent of Sith attackers, including Darth Nihl. His death enables other Jedi to escape, including Jedi Master Wolf Sazen, Cade Skywalker, Shado Vao, and many younglings and Padawans.

Oneness

Oneness is a state of union with the Force, although this is usually only achieved after death. While living if a person was to become one with the Force, they would become an extension of the Force, essentially becoming nothing more than a tool while they were at a perfect clam state.

(Star Wars: Legacy Issue #12, 2006) After his body was burned as a part of a Jedi funeral, Kol became one with the Force as his body disappeared:
